    FROM THE COMMANDER

    Hatchets,

Due to mission requirements this Newsletter is going out a little late, my apologies.

Anyways, the 1SG has some important guidance to put out, so please pay close attention to his letter.

I ask that you bring any and all of your cold weather gear during our MUTA 8. On our recon last week,

we found out how cold, wet and icy the conditions are up in the Northern Country of Vermont. We will

be battling the conditions as well as long days, filled with great individual training. We do a fantastic

job at basic soldier skills but it's the weather related injuries that we cannot afford, ie hypothermia, frost

    bite, sprained ankles.

Thank you to all who participated in the 126th BSB Ball; for you contributed to a record attendance.

See you all bright and early Thursday!

    Very Respectfully,

    CPT McNamara

    FROM THE 1SG

    Hatchets,

We hope everyone that attended the BSB Ball had a great time. Photos are available online on facebook if you have not seen

    them yet.

This month will be busy. Lots going on so I want to ensure everyone is prepared.

First, during the leaders recon, we saw lots of snow and ice still on the ground. I would expect to see that same situation for drill weekend. I want everyone to ensure you bring your cold and wet weather gear to this drill. You need to be prepared for

this as we will be out on the ranges all day Friday and Saturday. It could very well be cold, or snowing or raining. We can

only hope for sun and 60 degree temperatures. Seeing that this is Vermont, BE PREPARED.

On Wednesday night, I will be remaining overnight at the armory and encourage anyone who has a long drive like I do, to con-

sider doing the same. Our first formation will be at 0600 for convoy SP at 0800hrs. If you plan on being there overnight,

please let myself or SFC Hernandez know so we can ensure a cot is available for you.

Our training events for this weekend go as follows:

Final formation will be depend on all weapons and vehicle actions completion.

Please remember to be safe on the roads coming to drill. Even though Spring is right around the corner the roads can still have

black ice. Look forwarding to seeing you at drill Thursday morning.
