Hi all and THANK YOU!

Classroom Central https://www.classroomcentral.org is a nonprofit organization that collects school supplies

and distributes them to students living in poverty through our Teacher Free Store. Last year, Classroom Central

distributed over $5.4 million in free school supplies to schools in 6 districts (Mecklenburg, Gaston, Union, Ire-

dell, City of Kannapolis (N.C) and Lancaster county (S.C).

Over 98% of the supplies we distribute are donated. We receive no state, federal, school system or United Way

funding... which is why every donated item is so important. Every pencil, composition book, eraser, makes a

difference to a child living in poverty.

With that said, each year, I host a friends and neighbors supply drive to help stock the shelves of the Teacher

Free Store at Classroom Central. Last year we collected over 1,200 items! I hope to collect 1,500 items this

year and we have started off well – we have 518 items so far!!! That means over 500 sets of little hands will

receive paper or pencils or a ruler from YOU to help them succeed in the classroom!

I need YOUR help to reach the 1,500 item goal...(This is also a great community service project for your students

needing community service hours J ). To help you get the

most value for your shopping dollar, I will send you sale

flyer information on Sundays during this drive:

DATES of SUPPLY DRIVE: Sunday 7/21- Wednesday 8/7

MOST NEEDED ITEMS (Feel free to buy anything), but

here are some of the items that we never have enough of:

Pencils, Packs of erasers, Rulers, Composition Books, Fill-

er / Loose leaf paper

WHERE to DELIVER:

If you would like to participate, please feel free to drop donations of new school supplies to our house: 6909

Royce Ct. I’ll be glad to take them in to Classroom Central. I have a plastic tub with a lid outside of the house

in the event we are not home. Please put your donation in a plastic bag (just in case rain makes its way inside

the tub). Note: Don’t be alarmed, Mr. Jenkins will probably bark when you drop by

DONATION RECEIPTS:

Classroom Central is a 501c3 charity and your gifts are tax deductible (and greatly appreciated). If you would

like a receipt, just leave your full name, address and email address on a slip of paper in your bag. I will make

sure you receive a donation receipt via mail.

From the 9,000 educators who shop in our store, the 135,000 students that benefit from our program and our

(small but mighty) staff of 11, thanks so much!

Johanna
