My name is Wilson andI’m almost three,

and I have a problemwith bedtime you see.

I’m not a good sleeper.Nope, I don’t like the night.

Things keep me awake …hairy, scary things that bite!

My sleeping was a problem my parents wanted to fix.

They tried night lights and stuffed animalsbut nothing did the trick.

So every night it was the same, tossing and turning until day.But those hairy, scary things

just WouldN’T go away!

It was not long ago…only last week.

My dad tucked me in bed,then closed the door with a creak.

It was quiet and dark as I lay in my bed.

When those hairy, scary monstersstarted creeping into my head!

They were under the bedand behind the closet door!They were laughing at me

as they scratched on the floor!

They were big and hairyand oh, so creepy!

With my eyes open widehow could I be sleepy?
