President’s Message
Greetings everyone! Hoping to finally enjoy these beautiful summer days that will soon be upon us. A lot of members enjoyed our Incentive seminar with Jeanne Collick on May 21st. It was a rainy day, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the great gourd project and her easy teach-ing style. Everyone almost completed their projects that day as well. Hoping to do more projects with Quikwood and Gourds in the near future.
A special shout out goes to all who helped make the day a success. Thank you to all you painters who made my job of hosting this seminar the best one yet. I couldn’t have done it without you!! We also had a visit from Sabrina who was home from school and a past member, Wanda Vasko. It was a pleasure seeing both of you at the event. Don’t forget to check the list of food items that you agreed to bring to the picnic which will be coming up at our General Meeting in June. Many good cooks in this group and as always looking forward to Nancy Forbes’ summer picnic activities. Please get in touch with Nancy Forbes about the upcoming July 15th batik painting seminar that we have scheduled with Doreen McLain. If you haven’t signed up, please get in touch with her right away as I believe the deadline will have passed by the time the newsletter goes out. Also, sign up for the HOOT Bus Trip is ongoing. Please send in your forms to Charlene Wenzel. A date has yet to be determined for our September and/or October pencil and watercolor pencil seminar with Sherry Redd but a project was selected and looks to be very exciting. If any member wishes to do a learn to paint, or teach a small project after our meeting this year, please let me know. Always look forward to everyone’s input and creativity. See you at the picnic!! Sandy

As artists we hope that this box brings you some small comfort and the knowledge that many people understand that your child was special and very, very loved.

THINK YOU CAN
If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost:
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’ will:
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are:
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life's battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
