My mom is

taking me to

bring my

courage pouch.

When we get

there we need

to find a

parking place,

then we will get

out and walk

through the

door.

We will go to the check-in desk. We might have to wait.

I need to be patient and sit

quietly. I can play, listen to

while we wait.

The nurse may put a bracelet on my arm. I need to hold still while she puts

it on. I can take it off when I go home.

I get to stand on a scale and see how much

I weigh!

Sometimes the nurse will put a blood pressure cuff on my arm.

It will feel like a squeeze. That is okay. I can watch the numbers.

give me medi-

I might need to go for an X-ray or a test. I might have to get off the bed and lie on a table.

Sometimes the machine might make some noise. I can sing a song in my head. I can keep my toy with me under the heavy blanket.

Sometimes kids stay at the hospital for the night. If I do, I will have mom or dad stay

with me. My toy gets to stay too.

When it’s time to go home, I might get to ride back to the car in a wheel chair.

The hospital is an exciting place to visit. I will see my doctors again next time.
