Action Against Hunger – Canada is a mem-ber of the international network Action Con-tre La Faim which provides humanitarian aid in over 45 countries in the fields of nutrition, water supply, sustainable food supply and emergency aid. ACF - Canada is responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing visibility and financial support among Canadians with the aim of increasing Canada’s contribution to the global fight against hunger.

Bilingual Education for Central America exists to promote cultural exchange and affordable bi-lingual education. Our volunteer driven bilingual school model creates an environment in which Central American students learn from dedicated volunteer teachers, and those volunteers learn from the community in which they are immersed.

Centre d’Activites Recreatives et Educatives (The C.A.R.E. Centre)

Centre d’Activités Récréatives et Éducatives (C.A.R.E. Centre)Helping people with physical disabilities since 1995.The C.A.R.E. Centre is a non-profit charitable organization in Montreal, Quebec,

that provides a day program for adults with physical disabilities in the Montréal area. The C.A.R.E. Centre offers a program of recreational and educational activities to adults over 21 with severe physical disabilities. We advocate for our clients and provide them with opportunities for community social inclusion.

Our Mission is to enhance the lives, functioning and communication of adults with severe physical disabilities.

More than just recreation: We are able to help our clients contact the necessary resources to help them live full and enriching lives. This help may include adapted equipment, wheelchair repair, and housing information. Our staff is also available to help the clients with individual problems or concerns on a one-to-one basis. On a group level, we are also working with the clients to improve listening, behaviors, communication, and life skills.

The Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada is a national non-profit organiza-tion comprised of volunteers, members, and management led by a board of directors. Crossroads International/Carrefour International

Crossroads International brings together individuals, organizations and communities in Canada and the global South to eradicate poverty and assert human rights globally.

As our name suggests, Crossroads facilitates the coming together of people and organizations. Through international volunteering and partnership, Crossroads leverages expertise and resources necessary to address these global challenges.

Crossroads International offers people and organizations a space to collaborate across borders on pressing global issues.

Crossroads works with local organizations in West Africa, Southern Africa and South America that are combating extreme poverty and women’s inequality. With Crossroad’s support, partners in developing countries select Canadian partner organizations working on similar issues that can help them develop their programs and meet their development goals. The exchange of skilled volunteers and staff is central to the partnerships. Each year Crossroads brings partners from developing countries to work with partners in Canada, sends Canadians to work with partners.

Kalkeri Sangeet Vidyalaya

Kalkeri Sangeet Vidyalaya (Kalkeri Music School) was founded in November 2002 by Indian, French and Canadian citizens. Its mis-sion is to empower, support, and encourage children from socially margin-alised and economically disadvantaged backgrounds and to help them to realise their full potential and attain a better life. This is done through an intensive and comprehensive program of academics and music. The school provides a musical and academic education to more than 200 children aged between 5 and 23 years-old. In addition, food, accommodation, health care and clothing are provided, and everything is free. There are no fees at all. KSV is a non-profit, non-Governmental organization with no politi-cal or religious affiliations.

Leave Out ViolencE (LOVE)

Leave Out Violence (LOVE) is a not-for-profit youth violence prevention organization. LOVE’s focus is youth. LOVE helps youth who are living with, or have lived with violence. Our activi-ties are aimed at breaking the cycle of violence in their lives and then helping these young people become community leaders of violence prevention. Since LOVE began in 1993, these young leaders have involved thousands of children, youth and adults and reduced violence in schools, homes and neighbourhoods.

Peace Corps

Peace Corps is a U.S. government agency that sends volunteers to serve in developing countries for 27 months. Coming from all walks of life and representing the rich diversity of the American people, Volunteers range in age from college students to retirees. Every Peace Corps Volunteer’s experience is different. From teaching English to elementary school children in Zam-bia to launching a computer learning center in Moldova to promoting HIV/AIDS awareness in South Africa to working on soil conservation in Panama, Volunteers bring their skills and life experiences to where they are needed most.

Volunteers work in a variety of different sectors such as business, health, educa-tion, agriculture, the environment, information technology, youth and community development. Peace Corps offers a way to refine and develop skills and gain inter-national experience, while helping others.
