alana, a thirdchance at love

available for adoption

“Hi my name is Alana! I’m about 10 years old.I was adopted from H.E.L.P. many years ago

and my family returned me for personalreasons. I was very lucky and hit the jackpotand got adopted a second time.

I was so lucky to have a loving mom, untilshe had to go into a nursing home suddenly. The rest of the family didn’t know what to dowith me. So, they dumped me in my carrier infront of animal control and said to please findme a loving home.

I was taken back in with H.E.L.P. and I wasboarding at a local animal clinic.”

Third time adoption was the charm. Weare happy to announce that after a few

PRADA

Hi there! I’m Lacey and I love to greet people. I’m doing just great, except for onesmall little thing—I’ve been looking for the perfect family to join and I just haven’t beenable to find one yet. Maybe you could help me? Maybe you are my perfect family?

I am a fun, quirky cat who loves to lounge in my bed. I like to observe the worldaround me ,but am also be very affectionate. I get along fine with other cats.

I am an older girl (I was born on Oct. 1, 2001) and have a sensitive stomach, so Iwould love to go to a home that can monitor what I eat. I just want a family to love me!

Lacey is micro chipped, vaccinated, and spayed.

months of waiting Alana has found awonderful forever home. We wish her thebest with her new family!

a success story

There is much to say about this wonderful girlwhose smile will melt your heart.

Prada is approximately 2 1/2 yearsold, but it is a guess because she wasfound as a stray by animal control. Sheappears to be an Amstaff mixed withEnglish bulldog weighing in at 50lbs.

She was producing milk at the time shewas taken by animal control. She contin-ued to produce milk after coming to theH.E.L.P family. A doctors visit determinedshe was having a false pregnancy andhaving her spayed would put her bodyback in balance. Sure enough Prada isnow a happy, healthy pup.

This girl has a pure heart and wants to share her lovewith you. Unfortunately, it is clear that Prada had somehardships in her short time on this earth. She can some-times be shy of her head being touched or fast movinghands towards her. She will put her head down and freeze

in place until she knows you are safe. Then Prada willmelt in your lap for pets and kisses. She has not once

shown aggression to children or adultsand has passed her temperament testswith flying colors. Sadly, Prada hasshown food and toy aggression towardsother dogs sometimes without predic-tion. To be safe, her forever home shouldnot have any dogs or cats.

Prada wants to be spoiled, and lovesany type of affection. She will be yourprincess, your best friend, your cuddlebug. Don’t let her tough appearance foolyou, her smile always shows her trueheart. Her forever home should be one

that understands that Prada had a rough start, but do notjudge a book by the first chapters. She charms everyoneshe meets with her happy “oinks,” and classic bullysmile. She deserves a life of love and peace. Could you beher forever home and give her a happily ever after?

HELP prides itself on rescuing locally. In addition to rural county animal controls and ChicagoAnimal Care and Control, we have recently developed relationships with Animal Care andControl facilities in Aurora and DuPage County.

All of these facilities employees, volunteers and transporters work diligently to rehabilitate, network and place the animals in their care. HELP is very fortunate to work with such dedicatedpeople and facilities. These are a few of the recently rescued cats from Aurora and DuPageCounty facilities.

Swedish Days will take place from June 23 to June 28. Set upof our booth is the afternoon of Monday, June 22.

For this event we need a Lead Coordinator, who wouldarrange and oversee the delivery of our booth and set up andtake down. There is a team that has volunteered to set uponce it is delivered.

We also need a Volunteer Coordinator, who wouldschedule the volunteers that run the booth all week andmanage them to cover all shifts.

We have a Supply Coordinator in place that will get all theneeded supplies and manage resupplying the booththroughout the week.

HELP covers all costs. This is our biggest fundraiser of theyear, but we can’t do it without the early commitment ofvolunteers to cover these tasks.
