Help documentation for Smartcard This help documentation will provide you with useful information, on the one hand, on how you can order your LuxTrust product by the means of our online-banking solution S-net and, on the other hand, on how you should proceed in order to make your S-net authentication by your LuxTrust product. Across the documentation you will find hyperlinks, which should facilitate the reading on the screen. We recommend you to consider the order of the following steps. Steps to be followed : 1. Please connect to S-net. 2. Please choose the menu ‘Options’ and then select ‘LuxTrust’.

3. Please select the LuxTrust product ‘Smartcard’ and then click on ‘Continue’.

4. Please first enter an ‘Activation code’ (last 5 characters of your identity card).

Then you may choose if you want, or not, to link one or two e-mail addresses to your LuxTrust certificate. If so, please enter your e-mail address(es) in the field(s) ‘Main e-mail address’ and/or ‘Second e-mail address’. Please then indicate the delivery address in the fields ‘Delivery address’, ‘Country’, ‘Zip code’ and ‘City’. If you want your certificate to be published in the LuxTrust register, please tick the ‘Yes’-box under ‘Publication of the certificate in the LuxTrust register’. If you maintain several S-net agreements, you may, under ‘Agreement(s) to be attached to this certificate’, tick the agreement numbers for which you want to connect to S-net by the means of your ordered LuxTrust product. In the drop-down menu of the field ‘The price of the Smartcard (57,50 EUR) is debited from the account’, please choose the sight account number you want to be debited for the amount of your Smartcard order. In case you have a ‘LuxTrust Voucher’, please select it at the bottom of the drop-down list. Please pay attention to the notice at the bottom of the following screen: If the data (surname, main given name, date of birth and nationality) do not correspond to those of your identity card, please contact your BCEE branch. Please then click on the button ‘Check’.

Before starting the installation of Java, please note that : - you need Administrator rights on your computer ; - you need one of the following operating systems in combination with the following

web browsers : Windows 2000 : Internet Explorer 6 Windows XP Home and Professional Edition : Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox 2 (or higher) Windows Vista 32 bit : Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2 (or higher).

Please do not yet connect your card reader to your computer; if it is connected, please disconnect it.

1. In order to make a manual installation on Internet Explorer 7, please click on the download button available at the website http://www.java.com.

Change of the initial PIN code

Change of the initial PIN code provided by the ‘LuxTrust Codes’ letter

You need to change your initial PIN code, such as displayed in the scratch box of the ‘LuxTrust Codes’ letter. This change needs to be done before the activation of your LuxTrust product.

Steps to be followed : 1. Please first connect your card reader to an available USB port of your computer and then insert

your Smartcard into the card reader. The following window will appear on the screen. If this window isn’t automatically displayed, please click here (page 20-22).

2. Please fill in the first field, ‘Current PIN’, by entering the PIN code displayed under the scratch

box of the ‘LuxTrust Codes’ letter (hereafter marked within a red rectangle).

Regarding the second field, ‘New PIN’, please enter a new, personal numeric PIN code respecting all of the following characteristics: Must contain at least 6 digits and at most 8 digits. Must not reuse the last PIN code. Must not contain a repetitive sequence. The third field, ‘Confirm New PIN’, is meant to confirm your new PIN code. Therefore, please retype your new PIN code in this field. The criteria are validated as soon as you fill in the fields (replacement of the red crosses by green ticks). In order to enable you to validate your new PIN code, the following status is required:

A window informs you of the successful PIN change.

Alternative method for the initial PIN code change 1. In case the window for the PIN code change does not appear automatically, please

double-click on the following icon, which you will find at the right bottom corner of the toolbar on your screen.

You then will receive the following window.

Activation of your Smartcard

Please bear in mind that you need to activate your Smartcard within 60 days as from the ordering date. Once this time limit is exceeded, your certificate will, automatically and irreversibly, become unusable. You then will need to order a new certificate at your expense.

Steps to be followed : 1. Please first connect your card reader to an available USB port of your computer and then insert

your Smartcard into the card reader.

2. Please start your web browser on your computer and enter the following address in the address bar of your web browser :

http://activate.luxtrust.lu/

3. You will get to the following page. Please click on ‘LuxTrust Smartcard’.

4. The field ‘Select a card’ normally is already filled in. If several LuxTrust products (Smartcards

and/or Signing Sticks) are connected at the same time to your computer, please choose, among the drop-down list of the field ‘Select a card’, the one you want to activate.

Please then enter your personal PIN code into the second field and click on ‘Authentication’.

5. Your certificate will be displayed on the screen. Please click on ‘Next’, to continue.

6. On the next page, you will be invited to answer to three questions (which you may choose by the means of the drop-down list), in order to enable you to be authenticated, once you contact the LuxTrust Helpdesk by phone. After having answered the three questions, please click on ‘Next’, to continue.

7. Please enter your activation code, which you chose when placing your order, into the field

‘First activation code’ (normally, the last 5 characters of your identity card). Please then click on the button ‘Activate’.

You will get to the following page, if the activation has been successful.

8. Please close the window of your web browser.

After this successful activation, you need to wait until 4 hours, before you may start your first S-net authentication by your LuxTrust product.

First S-net authentication by your Smartcard

After activating your LuxTrust product on the LuxTrust website, you need to wait until 4 hours before you may start your first S-net authentication by your LuxTrust product.

Steps to be followed :

For users of Internet Explorer 7 under VISTA

If you use Internet Explorer 7 under VISTA, please add the following URLs, https://bcee.snet.lu and https://www.luxtrust.lu to the list of the trusted sites in the menu ‘Tools’ – ‘Internet Options’ – ‘Security’ – ‘Trusted Sites’ – ‘Sites’ and check if the field ‘enable protected mode’ is not ticked. Help : How to add an Internet address to the trusted sites list of Internet Explorer 7 under VISTA ? (pages 32-35) When done, please continue with the following indications.

If you do not use Internet Explorer 7 under VISTA, please continue with the following indications.

1. Please insert your Smartcard into the card reader and connect it to your computer. 2. Please then enter the following URL into the address bar of your web browser:

https://bcee.snet.lu. 3. Please select, under ‘LuxTrust Login’, the language you want to use, by clicking on the

according banner.

Warning : Your Smartcard absolutely needs to be connected to your computer, otherwise you will get an error message.

4. Please select the first option ‘Smartcard/Signing Stick’ to make your S-net authentication by

the means of your Smartcard. Please then click on ‘OK'.

5. Please accept the certificate, which you will be asked to accept at your first connection to S-net by your LuxTrust product: simply click on ‘Run’.

6. After recognition of your Smartcard, you will be asked your personal LuxTrust PIN code: please enter it and confirm it by ‘OK’.

7. On the following screen, please enter, as usual, your personal S-net codes : the identification number ; the password ;

and then click on ‘Logon’.

For new S-net users : Identification number : This number is displayed on your S-net agreement (top left corner). Password : This password is displayed in the envelope named ‘Code secret personnel initial (IPIN)’. The first time you connect to S-net, you will be asked to immediately change this password. Your new password then needs to be used for the following S-net connections.

8. Please fill in the ‘virtual keyboard’, as usual, based on the 16 characters of your ‘security card’ and click on ‘Logon’. This step is required in order to definitely establish the link between your S-net agreement and your LuxTrust certificate. During your next S-net connections by LuxTrust, you will no more be asked to fill in this ‘virtual keyboard’.

9. You now may use S-net as usual.

10. At the end of your S-net connection, please do not forget to exit by clicking on ‘Logoff’ and close the relating window of your web browser.

Next S-net authentications by LuxTrust : Regarding your next authentications, please proceed the same way. Please simply follow steps 1 to 4 and 6 to 7. You will notice that you needn’t fill in the ‘virtual keyboard’ anymore.

Help How to add an Internet address to the trusted sites list of Internet Explorer 7 under VISTA ? If the ‘User Account Control’ is activated, while using the Internet Explorer 7 under VISTA, the ‘Protected Mode’ of your web browser prevents the communication between the card reader and the web browser itself. In order to solve this incoherence, you need to add the address of the website, you want to have access to by your Smartcard, to the trusted sites list of your web browser. This manipulation needs to be done once for each web site you want to have access to by your Smartcard. Hereafter, you will find explanations on how you should proceed, in order to add certain Internet addresses to the trusted sites list. Default Start menu of Windows VISTA: In order to check the status of the ‘User Account Control’, please go to ‘Start’, then to ‘Control Panel’ and then open the ‘Security Center’.

Classic Start menu: Please click on ‘Start’, then on ‘Settings’ and then ‘Control Panel’ and finally on ‘Security Center’.

Please select the zone ‘Trusted sites’ in the ‘Security’ part and then click on the button ‘Sites’. You will get to the following window :

You now may enter the given Internet addresses into the field ‘Add this website to the zone :’ (e.g. https://bcee.snet.lu). When done, please click on the button ‘Add’. Please repeat this procedure for the LuxTrust website (https://www.luxtrust.lu). The website will be added to the trusted sites list and will then be known by the web browser. It will appear in the field ‘Websites’ (please refer to the window here above). When finished, please click on ‘Close’. Please be aware that the ‘Protected mode’ is disabled for the zone ‘Trusted sites’ (disabled by default). When done, please click on the button ‘OK’.

Next S-net authentications by LuxTrust

Steps to be followed :

1. Please connect your card reader with the Smartcard inserted to your computer. 2. Please go to the website https://bcee.snet.lu/ and select, under ‘LuxTrust Login’, the

desired language, by clicking on the according banner.

3. Please choose the LuxTrust product by which you want to make your S-net authentication. Please then click on ‘OK’.

4. Please enter your chosen PIN code of your Smartcard into the pop-up window. Please then click on ‘OK’.

5. Please enter your S-net ‘Password’ (you will notice that the identification number is already indicated by default).

6. Please then click on ‘Logon’.
