1. MetalbarwithaweldedDringoneachendandawelderDringinthecenter.2. Slastixneckstrapwithfoamsleevewithacarabineroneachend.3. Dooranchorstrapwithacarabinerclosesttotheslidebuckle,andacarabinerontheotherend
thatshouldbeloopedthrough2Dringsthatareconnectedtothefoamdooranchor.
ToassembleyourMoveWellTractionUnit:
1. AttacheachcarabinerfromSlastixneckstraptooneofthemetalDringoneachendofthemetalbar.
2. TheDringinthecenterofthebarattachestothecarabineronthedooranchorstrapclosesttotheslidebuckle.
3. MakesurethecarabinerisconnectedtotheDringthatisclosesttothedooranchorfoamdonut
(theonethatsitshigher).

HowtomountyourMoveWellTractionUnittoadoor:
1. Openthedoor,slidedooranchorstrapoverthetopofthedoor,downtheinsideofthedoor,tobesecuredoverthetopofthehinge.
2. Laystraptotheinsideofthehinge.
Closeandlockthedoor.
WARNING:Makesurenooneopensthedoorwhileusingthetractionunit.Thiscouldresultinseriousharmorinjury.
**RecommendedtosecureontheINSIDEofadoorthatlocks(&lockthedoor!!!).

SettingyourselfupinMoveWellNeckTractionUnit:
Determinewhatpositionyourdoctorhasprescribed(low,mid,orhigh).See“NeckPositions/Placement”formoredetail(onpage6).
1. Placeneckstrap/metalbaroverheadsothatthefoamsleeveisagainstthebackoftheneckandplacedonthepartoftheneckprescribedbyyourdoctor.Themetalbarshouldbeorientatedtothefrontofyourneck.
2. Locatetheendofthehandletoaddtension.Pullthehandletowardyouwhilereleasingtheslidebuckletoaddtension(youcanadjustthetensioninthelayingdownpositionorsittingup).
3. Laybackandifthetensionischallenging(butnotpainful),starttimerforprescribedamountoftimeandlayfaceupuntilthetimeisup.Adjusttensionasneededthroughouttheprocess.Itisbesttostartslowandseehowyourbodyadjuststothisnewformofnecktraction.*Youcanalwaysaddmoretensionormoretimeonafollowingsession,youcan’ttakeitback!Sostartslow.

GettingoutofyourMoveWellNeckTractionUnit:
1. Wraphandlestraparoundonofyourhandsuntilyourarmisstraightoutinfrontofyou,pullonhandlestrapto‘unload’thetensiononthelockingbucklemechanism.Depresstheslidebuckleandslowlyallowthehandlestraptofeedawayfromyou,releasingtensionontheunit.*Ifyourequireassistance,placeyourhandbetweenyouandthemetalbarandhaveahelperslowlylowerthetensiononthehandlestrap.
2. Rolltoyoursidetositup.Taketheneckstrapofffromaroundyourneckbyslowlyslidingitoveryourhead.DONOTtrytositstraightupfollowingusingthisunit,asthismaybetoochallengingandmaycauseaninjury.Analternativeistoletallthetensionoutofthestrapandslidetheneckstrapoveryourheadwhilestilllayingfaceup.Seewhichmethodworksbestforyou.

TimeonMoveWellNeckTractionunitThestandardprotocolforusingthisunitinvolvesstartingslowly,initiallyforjustafewminutes.Werecommendthatyouwaitatleast6hoursfollowingthefirstsession,toseehowyoufeel.Eachsubsequentsessioncanbegintoaddadditionaltime,perindividualtolerance.
Forexample:
Sessionone: 4-6minutes
Sessiontwo: 6-8minutes
Sessionthree: 8-10minutes
Continueatthispaceuntilyoucanachieve20minutestotalduration.Increasetheloadasyoubuildupatoleranceperyourdoctor’sguidance.Reportanyunusualdiscomfortorconcernstoyourdoctor.
NeckpositionsasprescribedbyyourdoctorLowneckposition:feetpointedtowardsthewallasclosetothewallaspossible,neckstrapaslowonneckaspossible.
Midneckposition:feetpointedawayfromthewallwithheadasclosetothewallaspossible,neckstrapinthemiddleofneck.
Upperneckposition:feetpointedawayfromthewallwithyourheadslightlyawayfromwalltobeatabouta15-20degreeupwardangle,strapslightlyhigherthanthe“midneckposition”.
