Hello everybody!I want to tell you about the museum of Nature

in Latvia.This is one of the oldest museums in Latvia , it

is also one of the largest museums in the country with the collections of

paleontological, geological, botanical and anthropological items.

The museum's collection consists of six exhibition departments:

• Anthropological• Botanical• Zoological• Geological• Paleontological• The department of Natural Science

(about human and nature)

The Museum of Nature was based in 1845. First collections was presented by the founders , so they became the basis for the collection of the new museum.The full collections of animals and plants were also collected and processed in this museum.

The museum keeps a varied collection of natural objects in Latvia and around the

world! The museum has also an exhibition and an

informational department, a laboratory and a library.

A great value represents a collection of different fossils and completely preserved skeletons of fish which was discovered in

1970

There also regularly organized thematic exhibitions and competitions.

For example, every summer museum present exhibition of gladioluses. It is

very fascinating and useful for yourself. There you able to see a lot of colorful

gladioluses, each with a different shade.

In general Latvia has a lot of interesting museums, the most famous of course are

located in Riga. Many Latvian museums is really a unique

collection of storing the history and cultural values not only in Latvia!

Every year in Latvia organized Museums Night.

That means that you can visit all museums for free.

You can get knowledge and have a good rest with your friend's company or get

some experience.

The most visited museums is: Museum of the History of Riga, Museum of Art,

Museum of Medicine and ethnographic outdoor museums in Europe.
