The map overleaf shows the location of 70 pubs almost all within a mile of the town centre and the vast majority of which offer real ale. Many of the pubs will have beers over and above their normal offerings on the bar, and there will be a starting beer list available which will be updated on the web as we hear of changes. You can use the map to create your own walk. Please limit your group size to help maintain social distancing. In this inaugural year we are re-using the dates earmarked for our Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival, which cannot go ahead because of uncertainty around Covid-19. From 2021, we hope to start the season with a Shropshire Beer Week each Spring. Follow Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival on social media to keep in touch. Please follow each pub’s rules on ordering and social distancing. They have put a lot of thought into them and they are designed to keep you and others safe. If a pub is too busy, please move on to the next one and come back at a quieter time. If you are visiting another business in the town, as we hope you will, please follow their rules, too! Do drink responsibly. Important at any time, responsible drinking is essential as we want you to be safe and healthy to continue to enjoy Shrewsbury’s great pubs for the foreseeable future. Having one too many could lead to injury (and bring the emergency services into danger), loss of social distancing and possibly affect the continued opening of pubs. CAMRA continues to campaign for beer, cider and pubs at the local and national level. Please consider joining us. As well as preserving your pleasures, there are personal benefits, too!
