Doctor of Medicine (MD) AQF Level 9 extended Masters program

Admission criteria • Completed bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 5.00 • GAMSAT test with a minimum of 50 in each of the 3 sections • Success in the GUMSAA interview

Doctor of Medicine (MD)

Key Degree • Study can be in any field or discipline. • In the final year of a bachelor degree program, or completed bachelor

(1 yr conversion or 2 yr accelerated), honours, masters degree or PhD. • Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma not accepted as a key degree. • A minimum GPA of 5.0 on a 7.0 grading scale.

Grade Point Average (GPA) • Bachelors – final three years of degree using GEMSAS schema • Honours - final year GPA uses the classification awarded and balance using final years of

undergraduate. • Masters (Research) - a GPA of 7.0 for the duration of equivalent full-time study (max.

2yrs) and balance calculated on final year/s of undergraduate. • Masters (Coursework or combined) - the graded components for the duration of

equivalent full-time years and balance on final years of undergraduate. • PhD – overall GPA of 7.0. • Calculation method: gemsas.edu.au/gpa-calculations

Graduate Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) • Minimum of 50 in each of the 3 sections • September or March • Valid for 2 years • Year 1 University level in Chemistry, Biology and Physics • Preparation materials: gamsat.acer.org/prepare/preparation-materials
