We confess our sin
God calls us to confess our sin from Hebrews 2:17; 7:25
Liturgist: Christ was made like us in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make atonement for the sins of the people. He is able to save to the uXermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
All (sing): stanzas 1, 2, and 3 of “Come, Ye Sinners” (next page)
Liturgist: Our good and faithful King, you promise to give generously when we ask for your will to be done.
All: But o@en we do not have because we do not ask. Liturgist: In your Son, you made us your sons and daughters,
and you give us free access to you in all 0mes and places. All: But we o@en live without prayer in unceasing busyness
because we trust ourselves more than you. Liturgist: You promise to answer us in the 0me that is wisest and best. All: But we do not trust your wisdom,
and we abandon prayer in impaDence long before we see the goodness and glory of your answer. Lord, have mercy on us.
(silent prayers of confession)
Liturgist: Father, rescue us from our foolish negligence and mistrust. Li] our eyes to you and lead us to pray to find strength to stand in our weariness, faith to trust your goodness in our confusion, and grace to help in our 0me of need.
All (sing): stanzas 4 and 5 of “Come, Ye Sinners” (next page)

Text: Joseph Hart 1759 Tune: Anonymous 1835, D. L. Gill 2015
Come, Ye Sinners
Liturgist: If anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
For all who have turned from sin in sorrow and look to God for mercy, this is God’s gi]. In Jesus Christ, God loves you, God forgives you, God accepts you, and God rejoices over you as beloved daughters and sons.
All: Hallelujah, Amen!

We pray for the church and the world
STANDING (IF ABLE)
Liturgist: (prayers for the church and the world)
All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptaDon, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

God feeds us at his tableCentral Presbyterian welcomes all Chris0ans who ac0vely trust in Jesus Christ for salva0on, who are willing to forsake their sin, and who are members of congrega0ons that proclaim the gospel to receive Holy Communion with us. If you are not ready to receive communion, you may simply pass the elements by. We also urge you to meditate on one of the prayers below.
Bread: The bread is gluten-‐free.
EaMng and drinking: Please eat and drink as you receive the bread and the cup when you are ready. We will not hold the elements and wait to eat un0l all have been served.
Prayer for those searching: Lord Jesus, you claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Help me to be undaunted by the cost of following you as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what you claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open me to the reality of who you are. Give me an understanding of you that is coherent and convincing and that leads to the life you promise. Amen.
Prayer of new belief: Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared believe, but through you I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt on the cross, taking what I deserved in order to offer me complete forgiveness. Knowing that you have been raised from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Amen.
