OPENING ADDRESS

Isaiah 26 v 3—You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because

he trusts in you.

Life is full of trials, temptations and challenges. Many come across our path to rob us

of our peace and joy. Sometimes we may feel like giving up, throwing in the towel.

Many times we feel that God is so silent, that our circumstances will never change!

However this scripture tells us that if we keep our mind steadfast on God and His

promises, no matter what comes our way, He will keep us in perfect peace because

we trust in Him.

When we look at the world, we can choose to either be stressed or we can choose to

trust God and live in His perfect peace. Always remember that God is still in control,

that He has the final say over our lives. He loves us and longs to give us peace that

passes all human understanding.

Love, Lynette

FROM THE MOUTH OF BABES

Ice Skating (Naomi Olivier - Grade 4)

I do Ice Skating every Sunday after

Church. My Club is called “Black Panthers

Ice Skating Club” I’m in the grade 2 group.

There are competitions every year. Last

year I took part in a competition and

achieved in the top 5.

Tennis (Zoemare Joel - Grade 4)

My sport is tennis. I have played

tennis since I was 5yrs old.

To play tennis is my dream, I always

watch tennis on TV. I want to

encourage other children to play

tennis. Every Tuesday and Thursday

I go to practice. I have a big match on

the 9th October.

I really love tennis!

TIME (Kieran Ontong - Grade 5)

Time, time, we don’t have enough

It goes so slow when we learn boring stuff.

It always goes so fast when we have fun.

I wish time was a person

I wish that he was me.

Then I can time travel, you see?

I will be able to stop time,

And go really fast.

I really think that will be a blast.

I will be able to go to the past,

Then I will go to the future last.

I’ll see my future-self.

I’ll have a son named Ralph.

And I’ll have a diamond play-button on my shelf.

RUGBY (Ethan Appollis - Grade 4)

I play rugby for the school. I have

been playing for three and a half

years. We are going to play a

match on the 27th March.

I love rugby, it's my favorite sport.

Our coach is Pastor Cameron.

He is the best coach we have

ever had.

I’m also looking forward to

watching the Rugby world cup.

CAMP (Jayden Petersen - Grade 4)

The school camp was fun. There were lots of

different animals. I also liked swimming and

playing during the night. We had fun running

around in the dark.

HEBRON (Jorja Kelly - Grade 2)

There are many reasons why I love Hebron. I love that my mommy works here. I also love the

school work but mostly art. I love the school events like the Food Fair, Praise and Worship

evenings and Youth. Hebron has made me a stronger person and a better friend. What I love

most is that I can dance and I learn about God.

EASTER (Skyler Ferriera - Grade 6)

What is Easter? People think Easter is about chocolate eggs and

bunnies. Easter is the time when Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

John 3 v 16 reminds us how much God loves us. The very best thing is that

Jesus died but rose again!

YOUTH Ino Mkula - Grade 4

Hebron’s youth is the best! We

have youth every Friday. We do

such fun things at youth. Last

week there was a lip sync battle.

My team won! I love youth.

FOOD FAIR Micaela Abrahams - Grade 6

The Food Fair is about having fun! We dance,

talk and sing. We also get stuff to eat. I like

the burgers and boerewors rolls.

I promise you, you will love the Food Fair.

MY SCHOOL Muhle Lugwali - Grade 5

I love Hebron because they discipline us

well. In the Bible it says that children

need to be disciplined, otherwise we won’t

learn anything. I love this school. It is the

best school ever. We learn new things

every day. My principal is Pastor Virgil

and I have 4 teachers who teach me,

Mam Jamie, Mam Ursula, Mam Grace

and Pastor John. I would like to stay in

this school until grade 7.

ONCE UPON A TIME Tando Mkroyia - Grade 2

Once upon a time there were three

girls who were friends, Tando, Chloe’

and Lubabalo. They went to school

together. Their school was Hebron

Christian Academy. They were clever

and pretty girls.

Their teacher’s name was Mam

Gonda. They all loved their teacher

A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

FROM RUGBY TO A SPIRIT FILLED LIFE

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?

Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes

into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not

run aimlessly, I do not fight like a boxer beating air. No I beat my body and make it a

slave so that after I have preached to others I myself will not be disqualified from the

prize.” 1 Corintians 6 v 24-27

Everyday I am involved with this sport, a sport that I live and breathe. I will never be

able to play again, but God is using me in mighty ways for His Kingdom.

I always wanted to be a hero on the field and though I had potential God called me

for something else. Where I wanted to be a hero to the crowds, God had called me to

make the real hero known - His Son - Jesus Christ!

I grow everyday. God has given me more than the rugby ball ever could. God gave

me a new start. A burning love for Him. Everlasting love.

He is the King of Kings, He is the Lord of Lords, His name is Jesus!

A POEM

Written by Charlotte Van Rooyen

(Mother of Zachary and Kayla van Rooyen)

Life’s Journey, Time centred

Schools life purely mentored

Open pages facing, knowing what to expect

Emotions rising only time could detect.

Teachers smiling giving words of wisdom

Only memories facing futures reasoned,

Friends made and lasting bonds,

From today lifetimes of treasures won,

Meeting time at life’s gate,

Never hopeless of previous fate

Blessed and privileged for God’s choice,

From today I choose to rejoice,

Never giving up on what you believe

Knowledge knowing you will achieve.

FOOD FAIR

The Food Fair was held on Friday 3rd March. Thanks to the hard work and

commitment of educators, parents and learners, this Food Fair was the most

enjoyable and successful one to date. Besides our regular food stalls, we had

private craft and bake stalls, go-karting and a visit from “Mr. Pritt” of Office

National. Our target was reached and monies raised will be donated towards

the setting up of our new Gr. R class.

A huge thank you for your contributions, support and hard work.
