HEAVEN

OR

REINCARNATION

Heaven is the idea that we can run back to the safety and

comfort of the womb, our childhood, never having to grow

up and face the world. it is a reflection of our weakness, our

cowardice, it says we are old, defeated by life and all we

want to do is seek a nice retirement home and rock away

in the easy chair for eternity. Reincarnation is asking us to

choose Life, a life that comes pre-packaged with pain and

suffering. Reincarnation stands for Life, Adulthood and the

Future. We cannot afford to live in the past, stay eternal

children, it is hard to grow up but grow up we must and

that is the teaching of Reincarnation

Page 3: Heaven or Reincarnation

Heaven is a metaphor for the Womb,

Childhood & the Past. Whereas Reincarnation

stands for Life, Adulthood and the Future.

Other religions teach a way OUT of Pain and

Suffering, Hinduism preaches a way IN! Time

to get out of the womb, out of Eden and start

Life! We experience pain for the first time but

that is also how Life Begins!

Reincarnation is made clear when we leave

the nest - we go off to College or a job - we

leave the loving home of our parents and

strike out on our own. We have it easy,

animals face far more dangers. But they know

they must leave! Why? Why not stay at home

and live in comfort? Because then we

wouldn't have a life! If we want a life of our

own, we must leave the nest(Heaven)!

The meaning of the word Karma, which is a Sanskrit word,

is Action or Work. That’s it! It’s not a spiritual payback

system, as it is popularly understood in the West. So, when

Hindus say they are defined (not judged—wrong word to

use in Hinduism—a parent does not judge their children)

by their Karma, it means we are defined based on what

we accomplished in life, our actions, our character,

conduct, morals—religion does not matter, belief does not

matter.
