Did You Know…During the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and early
2000, Heather Ridge Country Club boasted both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The many activities that were hosted at the
outdoor pool included youth swim team competitions, water ballet events, commu-nity and holiday parties and water aerobics
classes.
The indoor pool was open year round and offered water aerobics classes, lap swim-
ming, private parties and designated family swim times.Ph

What Is the Latest on the Regatta Plaza
Redevelopment(Parker and Peoria)?
EventhoughitisnotinmyWard, hereisanupdate. Buckley shared adraftsiteplan that includesapproximately400dwellingunitsand40,000squarefeetofretail.Hesaidtheplanissubject to further refinement. It islimited to his holdings, i.e., it doesnot address theKeyBank, SharmaorKingSoopersparcels. Buckley said the plan can befinancedandrealisticforthemarket.Hehopestobeginphysicaldevelopment next year but will not have adefinitetimetableuntilhecanobtain
assurances fromKing Soopersthat they willnot oppose hisproject. (Hisproperty is subject to 40yearold private covenants that giveRegatta Plaza
andRegatta Landing property owners mutual access rights and vetopowersoverlandusechanges). BuckleyhopedtoapproachKingSooperswithhisplanbymidDecember. Once he obtains assurancesfromKingSoopers,Buckleysaidhewill finalize his plans and begin thedevelopmentreviewprocesswiththecity. In the same time period, citystaff wouldmake necessary adjustments to thedraftNineMileStationArea Plan and present the revisedStationAreaPlan(SAP)toPlanning,
Economic Development andRedevelopment City Council PolicyCommittee. Ultimately, the planswouldgo to the fullCityCouncil foradoption. An adopted SAP is necessaryfor Buckley to obtain the TransitOriented Development zoning thathe requires todevelopamixeduseproject.
