Campaign overview
2020 has been a year that has tested our resilience, our innovation, our strength and our humanity. It has been a year of loss and sacrifice, yet a year of grit, invention, determination, perseverance, discovery and community. As we welcome first-year students to our campuses this August, we recognized the efforts and sacrifices of the past year. We should show our appreciation for the front-line heroes, the innovators at Biodesign, the front-line staff that kept the university open, the food and maintenance workers, the faculty and employees that pivoted to a virtual world and the on-campus and remote students that showed true determination and Sun Devil spirit.
The objective is to create an atmosphere of hope and positivity on ASU campuses and among the community at large, through the adoption of a symbol for the strength and resilience demonstrated during the pandemic. All messaging must be respectful of those who were affected by the pandemic while presenting a positive outlook of moving forward and being as inclusive as possible of students, faculty, staff, partners and the Sun Devil community.
