Skills test Module

Module Description

When a CPR manikin is connected to the computer, this module allows the student to practice ventilation and CPR. A skill test certificate with digital signature is provided upon succesfull completion of the ventilation and CPR tests; this can be printed and used during issuing of cards. Alternatively cards can be issued through electronic record transfer to Laerdal. See the License Server Manual for details.

Ventilation Lesson

Introduction:The wife of a 53-year-old building contractor has rushed her husband to the Emer-gency Room. Fifteen minutes ago she found him barely conscious in the couple’s bedroom with an empty bottle of TCAs lying next to him. As they arrive at the ER, he loses consciousness and goes into respiratory arrest. The wife tells you that it couldn’t be more than an hour ago that he ingested the pills.

Manikin Ventilation LessonInthelesson,thedepth,durationandspeedofventilationsareevaluatedreal-timeand Voice Assisted feedback is given during the lesson. The student must success-fully complete at least 1 minute of ventilations to pass this module.

The student can continue for as long as he or she thinks is necessary, but the evalu-ation will be on the total performance. The lesson can be restarted multiple times as long as the student has available program time.

CPR Lesson

Introduction: A 68-year-old man suddenly collapses. He has a history of high blood pressure, and he complained of chest pain and shortness of breath before losing consciousness.

Manikin CPR LessonInthismodethestudenthastoperformsingle-rescuerCPRusingabarrierdevice.Inthis lesson the compressions and ventilations given during the CPR cycles are evalu-ated.Thestudentwillbeassistedbyreal-timevoicefeedbackwhileperformingCPR.The student must successfully complete at least 5 cycles of 30:2 CPR to pass this module.

The student can continue for as long as he or she thinks is necessary, but the evalu-ation will be on the total performance. The lesson can be restarted multiple times as long as the student has available program time.
