Selection of Hearst for New Outdoor Pool
• Through DPR’s master planning process, Ward 3
was identified as an area that lacked an outdoor
pool within 1.5 miles of every resident.
• Potential Ward 3 locations that included adequate
space for a pool and pool house included:
• Palisades Park and Recreation Center –
Probability of historic designation limited
eligibility.
• Friendship Recreation Center – Pending
construction plans limited eligibility.
• Hearst was identified as the most viable
option.
