Hearing Aids and Travel Arrangements
• If you are currently wearing a hearing aid,
you need to make sure you have extra
batteries and tubing packed with you. In
certain locations, these items may be difficult
to obtain.
• Use precaution when it comes to drying
your hearing instruments out in the evening. A dehumidifier
works great for preventing any moisture issues from occurring,
especially when you are planning to head into someplace that is
humid and warm.
• For preventing any loss, you might want to avoid storing your
units in a piece of checked luggage. Instead, you will want to
keep an extra set of batteries within a different piece of luggage
to help eliminate the risk for complete loss of use.
Security Screening and Your Hearing Aid
In the vast majority of cases, you will be able to wear your
hearing aids without danger of setting off the security alarm
during clearance. The security scanner is not going to cause harm
to your units, so you will be protected either way you go.
