DO NURSING MOMS LOSE MORE WEIGHT
Studies have shown mothers who nurse do burn more calories a day then mothers who don’t. The average breastfeeding mom burns 400 calories a day. Those calories really add up over a period of time.
HOW DO NURSING MOMS LOSE WEIGHT
Nursing moms lose weight by breastfeeding. Breastfeeding on a regular basis burns more calories because your boosting your metabolism.
When you boost your metabolism you burn more calories which allows you to lose more weight.
That means breastfeeding is not just good for baby its also great for momma too.

A lot of moms set too high of expectations with out considering some things.
You just had a baby!!! It will take your body some time to adjust.
You have to remember it took some time to gain the weight and it will take some time to lose it as well.
Your hormones will need time to get back to normal

If you’re an expecting mother than there are some things you can do right now to help you with your weight loss success after the baby is born.
Start your healthy habits now to include:

Eat a healthy diet of lean meats, fruits and veggies
Stay away from sugary drinks like soda and juice
Drink plenty of water
Be active while your pregnant

Creating good habits will put your body into the right mindset
Once the baby is born your body will recall what it did before
The adjustment after the birth will be smoother
Chances of post partum depression are much less when you put these simple things into place before the baby is born.
FOR THE FIRST FEW WEEKS AFTER BABY IS BORN
Nurse your baby and focus on building that bond
Don’t rush your recovery after the birth
Make sure you keep you healthy eating habits in place
Drink water
Get as much rest as possible this is your recovery time
ONCE YOU RECOVER FROM HAVING YOUR BABY
Go back to what you were doing before you had the baby
Become active but don’t over do it
Work out moderately until you work back into your normal routine
Continue to breastfeed
DON’T WORRY NURSING MOMS
It is never too late to start your weight loss goals.
If you had bad habits before birth its okay
Change your habits now! Remember it takes approximately 21 days to change a habit
THINGS TO CONSIDER ASK YOURSELF
Is the food I am eating the food I want my baby to have. Baby counts on you to eat right so they get the right vitamins and nutrients.
Am I being active enough. Remember breastfeeding is great but it does not accelerate the heart rate to really kick start our bodies into fat burning machines. Do aerobic or anaerobic exercise to get the heart rate up at least 30 minutes a day. Keep it light and fun.
I love putting my daughter in the back pack and walking around the park. Its great for her to get exposure to new things and it allows me to be active.
