In Lithuania pumpkins are harvested inlate August or September.Uncut pumpkins should be stored in a cool, dark place for up to 2 months.

Lietuvoje moliūgų derlius nuimamas rugpjūčio pabaigoje – rugsėjo mėn..Sveiki (nepažeisti) moliūgai turi būti laikomi tamsioje, vėsioje vietoje. Jie tinka vartoti apie 2 mėn.

A pumpkin is one ofthe very low calorievegetables:•100 g fruit providesjust 26 calories,•it contains nosaturated fats orcholesterol,•it is rich in dietaryfiber, anti-oxidants,minerals andvitamins.

Moliūgas yra viena iš itin žemo kaloringumo daržovių:•100 g moliūgo yra tik 26 kalorijos,•jame nėra cholesterolio bei prisotintųjų riebiųjų rūgščių,•moliūgas turi dauskaidulų , antioksidantų, mineralų ir vitaminų.

A pumpkin is a rich source of vitamin A.It is also one of the best-known sources of the antioxidant beta-carotene. Therefore it may reduce cancer risk.The potassium contained within pumpkins can have a positive effect on bloodpressure.The antioxidants and vitamins contained within pumpkins could preventdegenerative damage to the eyes.Pumpkin seeds, concentrated with the minerals, vitamins, protein and mono-unsaturated fatty acids, are very useful for heart and brain health.

Moliūguose yra daug vitamino A. Taip pat juose gausu antioksidanto beta karotino, kuris mažina vėžio riziką.Kalis, esantis moliūguose, padeda palaikyti normalų kraujospūdį.Vitaminai ir antioksidantai, esantys moliūguose, apsaugo nuo degeneracinių akių pažeidimų.Mineralų, vitaminų, proteinų bei nesočiųjų mono riebiųjų rūgščių gausu ir moliūgų sėklose. Jos labai naudingos normaliai širdies ir smegenų veiklai.

1. Cut the pumpkin intothe slices and removeits seeds, fibers andskin./Supjaustykite moliūgą, nulupkite odą, pašalinkite sėklas ir skaidulas.

2. Then slice it into the smallpieces./Tada supjaustykite moliūgą mažomis riekutėmis.

3. Put those slices into thespecial mixture:•water, lemon acid and sugar;•jam and sugar.Keep them in the mixture for 10 - 12 hours./ Įdėkite supjaustytus moliūgo gabalėlius į specialų mišinį:•vanduo, citrinos rūgštelė, cukrus,•uogienė ir cukrus.Palaikyte juos užmerkę 10 – 12 valandų.

5. Put them into the dryer machine.Keep drying for 24 – 48 hours./Sudėkite paruoštus iešmelius į džiovyklę ir džiovinkite 24 – 48 valandas.
