The emphasis on knowledge, hard work and relationship-building estab-lished a foundation for a company that has not only withstood economic and industry turbulence, but tripled in size over the last 15 years to become a $30 million operation.

Though Carroll Seating has grown significantly, it’s never forgotten its roots and guiding philosophy: provide a great client experience by delivering industry-leading products with courtesy, professionalism and project-honed knowledge. Today the company provides finish work to hospitals, and lab solutions to emergency rooms and has enhanced its capabilities to include laminated casework, architectural woodwork and solid surface countertops. Carroll’s clients represent a wide variety

of industries including public arenas, healthcare, and education facilities.

Mike Carroll, vice president in the Kansas City office, learned the industry by working in the business since his high school days. From unloading trucks, to sales and marketing, to concept, design and estimating, Carroll learned first- hand the right way of doing more than expected and keeping clients happy.

Cultivating and maintaining relationships with clients and key partners is another fundamental tenet. “We make all the pieces work together from selecting the materials and suppliers through installation of the finished products,” said Carroll. “There’s a lot of coordination, and it’s challenging, but we really enjoy it and excel at it.”

With a solid business history, experi-ence with a variety of materials and manufacturers, and a breadth of product knowledge, Carroll Seating has recently completed coveted projects in the healthcare field. “We know the hospital market very well, most recently complet-ing the Cass Regional Medical Center, Geary Community Hospital, Atchison Hospital, and Liberty Hospital,” said Doug Mead, project manager for Carroll Seat-ing. “And having relationships with the fabricators and craftsmen who know the hospital industry as well allows us to communicate well and deliver exactly what our client wants and expects.” For the Cass and Geary projects, Carroll Seating was responsible for building and installing nurse and visitor workstations, closets and cabinetry in patient rooms, and solid-surface counter tops.

Kent Summers, vice president of Fabricor, a long-time strategic partner, admires Carroll Seating’s longevity and reputation for being able to meet the challenges of any customer. Summers says his company motto “large enough to accommodate, small enough to

appreciate” fits nicely with Carroll’s approach to business as well.

Carroll Seating also works regularly with TMI Systems in Dickinson, North Dakota, for laminate casework and architectural woodwork. Brian Reiter, national sales manager for TMI, has worked extensively with Carroll on a variety of hospital projects and says they are world-class business people and relationship builders. “I work with dealers nationwide and the Carroll folks are some of the best,” said Reiter, “They really understand the process from start to finish and make it easy to work with them.”

Mike Carroll says they have a simple formula for on-going success: care more about the details, and have the best people keep close watch on those details. “Each project has our reputation, and the reputation of our partners riding on it. We don’t take that lightly and we do everything we can to ensure that clients are happy with our work – and proud to tell others about it.”
