Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. To prevent heart disease and increase awareness of its effects, Chronic Disease Prevention Program is proudly participating in American Heart Month. Healthy Recipe
1. Toss lettuce, cucumber, jicama, peas, and onion together in a large bowl.
2. In a blender container, add avocado, orange and lime juice, and garlic salt; coverwithatightfittinglid,andblenduntilsmooth.
3. Add dressing to salad and toss well to coat. Serveimmediately.
8 cups shredded romaine lettuce½ cup peeled and chopped cucumber½ cup peeled and chopped jicama½ cup frozen peas, thawed ¼cupfinelychoppedredonion1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted½ cup 100% orange juice2 tablespoons lime juice½ teaspoon garlic salt

This recipe uses avocado to make a cramy, healthy dressing that tastes great.
