Participatory Medicine is a cooperative model of health care that encourages and expects active involvement by all connected
parties (patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, etc.) as integral to the full continuum of care. The “participatory”
concept may also be applied to fitness, nutrition, mental health, end-of-life care, and all issues broadly related to an individual’s health.

In 2015 we asked:Do you believe that working with your
healthcare professional AS A PARTNER will help you manage and improve your overall health?
We asked:Do you believe tracking your own health data [BP, heart rate, glucose, physical activity…] with an accurate monitoring device and sharing it with your health care professional BETWEEN visits would help you better manage your health?
We asked:Do you believe that being able to easily and accurately monitor your body is important to YOU, your PROVIDERS, or BOTH?
77% said “both of us”
We asked:If it were clinically accurate AND EASY TO USE, would you use a personal monitoring device that provides tracking of blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, glucose, physical activity and other key assessments?
Yes.
Would you be more likely to use a personal monitoring device if your health care professional recommended it?
Bigger yes.
In short:
“People want to collaborate with their doctorsand co-producetheir clinical data”
The evidence shows:
It’s what people want.
