Joining in person
Come to Health Promotion Resources
Fill in and sign the membership form
We will give you a membership card with a barcode number (your ID number) and introductory leaflets, and answer any questions you may have
Joining online or by post Go to: http://www.library.northants.nhs.uk/, click
under Membership & Services, then Library membership on the left of the screen – look for Library Membership Form
Print out the form, fill it in and send it back to Health Promotion by post
Or download the form, fill it in on your computer, type your signature, and email it back to us at [email protected]

We will send you some introductory leaflets and a membership card
The barcode on the membership card is your membership number – you will need this to reserve and renew resources
When you receive your card please email us at [email protected] so we can activate it and you can start borrowing from us!
Borrowing resources Available to reserve (book) up to a year in

Can borrow up to 10 items at a time
2 week loan periods but a longer period may be arranged if you ask at time of booking
If you need to keep items for longer, please contact us before they are due back and we will see if we can extend the loan period (dependent on other reservations)
How to book (reserve) a resource
Fill in a resource booking form, found online: www.library.northants.nhs.uk/Content/Health_Promotion_Resources/Resources_booking_formONLINE.doc
Booking forms are also available at our information points
Send it back to us by post, email or fax, or alternatively phone us with your order
We will confirm the item is available at the time you want to use it and book it for you
How to book (reserve) a resource 2 Resources are delivered to a collection point for
pickup or the order is put together while you wait at Health Promotion Resources
Once your loan is over, please return resources to the collection point you picked them up from, or let us know if you are taking them back somewhere different
Please return resources on time, so other people can use them! There is a charge of 25p per day for items not returned on time
We check resources when they return – please tell us about any damage or problem
Borrowing laptops/projectors Order like a resource
These can be loaned for up to one week, only to NHS staff
They need to be collected from Health Promotion Resources and need to be signed for
We will give you an extra password when you collect to enable you to log onto the laptop
If you lose the password please contact Health Promotion Resources for another one, not IT
Ordering leaflets and posters Search for leaflet/poster titles on the online library
catalogue or view samples in the catalogues at our information points. Samples have a blue sticker with the catalogue reference no (eg L2/5) and a guideline maximum order amount (eg QTY 20). Please ask if more are required
Can be ordered by phone, email, fax or in person
Delivered to collection points around the county, posted through internal NHS mail or can be picked up from Health Promotion Resources. Small amounts can be posted through Royal Mail

Put the catalogue reference no. (eg L1/1) as well as the title

Leaflet orders can be done while you wait at Health Promotion and we aim to post an order out within 2 days for in-stock items
If a leaflet is not in stock we will let you know
We can keep your order as a back order to fulfil when leaflets come into stock
