Sunset Hills and added experienced allergist and

immunologist Elyra Figueroa, MD.

Dr. Figueroa treats both pediatric and adult allergy,

asthma and immunology patients. She performs

allergy skin testing, patch testing, lung function

testing, oral food challenges, eosinophilic esophagitistesting and immunotherapy. She takes a special

interest in caring for children with atopic dermatitis

and food allergies.

“Allergic disease, such as food and environmental

allergies, and asthma is inherited,” explains Dr.

Figueroa. “As a result, I treat and care for multiple

family members allowing me to build a close

relationship with my patients. I educate my patients

so they understand their specific allergic disease. My 

greatest reward is seeing my patients live a healthy and

normal life despite suffering from allergies or

asthma.”

Dr. Figueroa is board certified in pediatrics and

fellowship trained in allergy and immunology. As a

native St. Louisan, she grew up in West County and

graduated from Visitation Academy. She completedher fellowship training in allergy and immunology at

 Washington University and completed her pediatric

residency at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s
