ADOPTION OF MINUTES

Adoption of Minutes from Wednesday, October 7, 2015 There were no errors or omission to the minutes of Wednesday, October 7, 2015, and the minutes were adopted as presented. M/S/C THAT the minutes of Wednesday, October 7, 2015 were adopted as presented.

REVIEW OF SITE-BASED HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Review of Site-Based Health & Safety Committee Minutes The Committee reviewed the site-based Health & Safety Committee minutes were submitted. Bouchie Lake: No issues. Correlieu Secondary: - Under old business some maintenance requests will be submitting following the Committee's site inspection walk through. All other maintenance requests have been submitted with respect to new business. There was a first aid incident and a Form 6A was completed by the employee. It has not been received by Tracy Ruether and Brian Cullinane will follow up and have a copy sent over. DAO: All requisitions have been submitted for any concerns listed. Dragon Lake: The paving is complete in the parking lot. The principal should talk to the custodian about leaving a mop out near the water fountain. A requisition has been submitted regarding the piece of flooring by the gymnasium.

Health & Safety Committee Wednesday, November 04, 2015

École Baker: It was noted in the minutes that they decided not to do a walk through. The District Committee has asked that they be directed to complete one as it is a WorkSafe requirement. Kersley: No issues. Lakeview: They have submitted requisitions with respect the PA system in the music room and gymnasium. Rod will look into this. Under new business they have submitted a maintenance request regarding changing the hinge on the Library door due to it being too hot in the Library and the door does not open fully and juts into the hallway. Rod will have the heating looked at in the Library. The electric hand dryers are creating a lot of noise. Rod advised that there are speed controls on the units that can be slowed down as well as putting on different nozzles. There was also discussion about putting the doors back up on washroom doors and the options for ensuring students do not play or vandalize the washrooms. Riverview: Extra cleaning was assigned due to infectious diseases. Maintenance requests have been submitted from site inspection walk through. Wells: No issues.

REVIEW OF CURRENT ACCIDENT/INCIDENT REPORTS

Review of Current Accident/Incident Reports The Committee reviewed the list of current accidents/incidents. There were no concerns. A Form 6A will be coming from Correlieu for an employee who was hit in the shin by a softball earlier in the year. There was no lost time or doctor's visit as a result of the incident.

ANY OTHER MATTERS

Site Inspections The Committee reviewed the site inspections that were submitted. Barlow Creek: Tracy will contact them to ask them to put blue and red stickers on their taps. Carson: They have some outside concerns with the cement stairs and sidewalks. Rod will follow up on this. DAO: All requisitions have been submitted. Dragon Lake: Rod has sent an electrician to fix the exposed wires. Tracy will contact Dragon Lake to ask them to purchase a plastic eyewash bottle. Rod will follow up regarding the issues with flooring. Tracy will confirm with the principal that maintenance requests have been submitted and also remind them that when there are any serious concerns, such as exposed wires that a direct call to Rod should be made. Kersley: Tracy will confirm that maintenance requests have been submitted. Maintenance: No issues.

Health & Safety Committee Wednesday, November 04, 2015

McNaughton: Tracy will confirm if they have sent in a requisition regarding their electrical issues. Parkland: No issues. QJS: Maintenance requisitions have been sent in with respect to any concerns. Riverview: Tracy will ask them to purchase a plastic eyewash bottle. Wells/Barkerville: No issues. WHMIS 2015 The Committee discussed WHMIS 2015 and the incorporation of GHS, an international initiative to standardize hazard classification and communication globally. GHS has not replaced WHMIS. WHMIS has incorporated GHS elements, resulting in new standardized classification criteria, label requirements and safety data sheet (SDS) requirements. The Committee has no concerns regarding this. BCPSEA O.H. & S. Newsletter The Committee reviewed the BCPSEA O.H. & S Newsletter which reviewed some selected changes to the Workers Compensation Act, JEIS process, law and policy bulletin and the School Safety Association of BC.
