Headteacher’s Blog – Week Commencing 15 th of June 2020 I hope you are all well and keeping safe. It has been a delightful week as we have welcomed Year 10 students back into school. Although the school operates in a different way, it was lovely to see students back in school and back in class. In order to keep the community safe I have filmed a ‘social distancing at CODA’ video which shows how the school will operate when we re-open. To watch the video follow the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8-DpbXVLWE&feature=youtu.be Although these are unprecedented times, CODA remains strong and I am proud with the amount of successes we have had whilst students learn at home. All students mentioned will also receive an extra 20 points. These will be carried forward to next year’s Activity Day scoring as well. Technology Success Mr Green wants to say well done to Amit K. Mr Green said ‘I'm marking the Y10 Coursework ahead of their return on Wednesday, and this is Amit's final section. His progress using CAD is brilliant! From timestamps I can see he put a lot of this together beginning of April.’ Well done Amit we are proud of you. Art Success Mrs Richardson wants to say well done t Edgar U for his amazing art work (below). Well done Edgar.

They've been completing their History work to a brilliant standard. Attached is Leah's 'Blitz Spirit - Reality or myth?' homework. Mathematics Success Mr Howell and the ths team have a lot of students to say well done to. Mr Howell said ‘Well done if you made the HT5 winners table. The table shows that you have been the highest amount of logins and also successes at mastering and acquiring skills on MathsWatch. Your Maths Teacher are really proud of you, especially for your impressive sustained effort!! The middle sized table is the best in each year so an extra well done if you made this table - I know your tutors and HoY; as well as the Maths team are blown away by your efforts. ...... Then finally a super well done if you made the best in CoDA for HT5 this this is awesome! Well done to you all. This is a really great commitment to your learning and You will be seeing lots of points being awarded if you are on these lists. Miss Bone is currently leading on our rewards in Maths now so you may some points awarded from her - Thanks Miss Bone who is doing a great

job 🙂’ Table to be shared next week. For the Logins Tables, this shows that some students are logging over 15 times per week to complete MyProgress tasks (linked to QuAns they have probably ) - this is brilliant! Well done if you are still logging into MathsWatch, especially as we know there is some cross over to MyMaths now. We are looking at a way to reward MM in a similar way. It is impressive to see that the use on these platforms has remained very stable even though some students have moved to worksheets and written work as well.

To get in some practice in beforehand, here is a link to a set practice questions (which is freely available to everyone).
