BELMONT CANCELS SUNDAY CARD Sunday's live card at Belmont Park was called off dueto electrical problems. A transformer fire in the base-ment of the track Saturday morning forced a temporaryevacuation and the closure of the grandstand area.Saturday's program went off as planned, but the dis-ruption in power from the fire continued to cause prob-lems Sunday, particularly with the air conditioningsystem, and the card was scrapped. Sunday was to beclosing day of the Belmont spring/summer meet. The2008 season at Saratoga opens Wednesday.
