Education is the mother of leadership.

Wendell L. Willkie

This is a new awakening for all of us, when education is considered the foremost essence of life, after

health. Our objective is 100% literacy for this area and we will continue to strive for it. The

developed nations of the world have shown progressive growth only due to an increase in the literacy rate. As a responsible

citizen of the country, it is our duty to contribute to the growth of our society and the region as a whole.

My family and I will continue to work for the vision of my father Mr. M.N. Abbasi and the day is not far when not only

the youth but the elders of J.P.Nagar will stand by us to work for the growth, development, intellect and wealth for the

region. I welcome you all to be a part of this exciting new era and feel the pride in being a true citizen of India.

Hon’ble citizens, respected parents and dear students

We have successfully completed eight years of the long life of this Institution and I would like to convey my congratulations and good wishes to you. I have been a teacher by nature as well as by profession for forty years of my life. It is why I chose to live the rest of my life as a teacher through Nayab Abbasi Girls Degree (PG) College, Amroha. I had been friends with Mr. M.N. Abbasi, founder and President of this college, for twenty two years before I shifted to Amroha in 2001. The expense of land, the building and the running of this institution during the early two years of the Institution from his single pocket is a great contribution by an individual for the community and the society at large. Only this contribution of Mr. M.N. Abbasi inspired me to give up last five years of my government

service to get pre-mature retirement and serve this institution. It cost me dearly in terms of salary, pension and funds. But the spirit of social and educational service which has been deep rooted in my heart helped me to shift to Amroha for this noble cause while my family is settled at Manglour Town in District Haridwar of Uttrakhand state. My interest with this institution is only social and educational service and for that most people call me a fool of this materialistic world.

I have served in a totally non-muslim college as a teacher for thirty one years with utmost respect, affection, co-operation and brotherhood for this long period which is difficult to be had even in a family without any bitter experience ever. I completed this long period of my teaching life without a single case of physical punishment to any student without having a stick in my hand ever and without a single example of disregard or disobedience by any of my students what so ever.

I have explained about myself and my last institution only to let you know that I have successfully practised the same principles and rules in this college in my capacity as an authority as I had experienced as a sub-ordinate. There may be some personal grievance, that too of very low magnitude, but by and large the staff and the management is one and united and co-operative. One can never run an institution so successfully without co-operation and hard work of sub-ordinates and students. Regular classes, total discipline and security, fair examinations and family atmosphere are a few of the qualities of this institution worth mentioning. This institution is counted as one of the best institutions of the state by the university, society, students and guardians. More than fifty percent non-Muslim students are

contributing their best in flourishing N.A.G.D. College. The grand, neat and clean, pollution free building with spacious play grounds, qualified and approved teachers and safety of students are the main features of this college. Education is the fundamental

and basic agenda for the development of human society across the nations and civilization. Our work in education has one more specialisation and that is educating girls who help to educate the whole family and society at large.

In the last, I request the citizens, the parents, staff members and the students to come forward with greater co-operation and contribution to make this institution, “Unique” which its name “Nayab” stands for. I wish all success to all of

them and this institution at large.

Message of theSECRETARY

Abbasi Charitable & Educational Society has been working among downtrodden, neglected, destitute and weaker

sections from more than a decade on all India basis zooming Amroha (J.P. Nagar) for elaborated activities but it was

registered on March 18,1998. This was the day when the founders of the Society took a pledge to dedicate best of their

energies to achieve the objective of the Society. And, as the primary goal, and dream of the founder Mr. M.N. Abbasi, Nayab

Abbasi Girls Degree College (NAGDC) came into existence.

NAGD College came into being as the dream project of Mr. M.N. Abbasi, President of

the Society. The full-fledged association of the partons, parents, and guardians of students

and intellectuals has proved that NAGDC enjoys the confidence, love, affection and

personal attachment of the level of no comparison.

NAGDC is the educational institution with a difference. It is only a degree college for girls

but it is the only college in the district with multiple dimensions. It is developing as

multiple educational center wherein a series of projects are about to take place, which shall

provide socio-educational guidance and opportunities to the students of college as well as

other weaker sections of the society. It is clear like crystal in the minds of the

management of the college that the

preservation of environment is a value,

which along with certain other values must

from an integral part of curricula at all

stages of education. To operationalize this

noble objective, the mind and intellect of

the student must be sensitized to the

hazards inherent in nature upsetting the ecological balance in nature. This step

inculcates awareness and respect among students for basic concepts relating to the

conservation of environment . With this, NAGDC envisaged a new style of growth with

identification and development of talented, bright and gifted youths predominantly from

rural areas who may otherwise be denied good education opportunities. Efforts are made to

ensure all around development of the personality.

In the vast piece of 2.687 Hect. of land, a beautiful and magnificent college building has been

erected, surrounded by Mango Orchard, exactly on the pattern of "Santi Niketan".

Which is an exiting world of knowledge, activity and creativity in itself. There is a constant effort

through varied extra curricular activities in the field of art, culture, sports and other mega events to

provide an opportunity for exposure of the original and natural talents.

Emphasis is also to promote national integration through genuine discourse and develop an

understanding of the diversity and plurality of the country's people, their language and culture. "Education is not an option but a

global necessity for growth and development of human civilization" is the magic mantra of the founder of the college Mr. M.N.

Abbasi which has worked as a formula in the educational sector in the district of J.P. Nagar. We have won the title of university

championship in women wing this year

and finished second at university level

in both boys and girls.

Our group consisted only five

girls who won the titles.

Participation, motivation and appreciation are an integral part for achieving success in any sphere of life, which has a due place in the training programmes of NAGDC society. The result itself envisaged the outcome of these basic concepts. As motivation is the backbone of all the programmes related to community development, NAGDC society is also concerned about motivation activities in various programs related to vocational training, social and health awareness etc. In this process, motivational activities are being conducted at various levels.

Guest faculty members are working at the grassroots and are directly interacting with the beneficiaries of the community and thus need proper orientation and motivation through program functionaries and other resource persons of NAGDC society. In order to streamline the process, regular meetings are planned with beneficiaries, staff and guest faculty member to provide exposure, motivation and to discuss problems, if any. In these meetings, along with general discussions, the resource persons also give motivational lectures. Beneficiaries/trainees also need motivation for their regular participation in vocational training programs and other activities related to the objectives of NAGDC society and needs of the community. They are regularly in touch with program functionaries of NAGDC society either during the meetings in centers or family visit in the community by the staff. though NAGDC society is deeply concerned about development of underprivileged sections of the society, the other members of community are also motivated at various points of time so that their involvement in various courses and other activities could be enhanced.

Any program cannot be successful until it has the support and recognition from the community. For making the programs of

NAGDC society successful, due emphasis is being laid on the participation of community. Instructors and program functionaries ensure regular interaction with the community through home visits and other meetings.

Thus NAGDC society holds the responsibility upon itself for proper implementation and monitoring of programs so that the feeling of community ownership can be generated. Besides this, the need assessment has brought us with

various ideas about trades other than the traditional courses especially meant for women. The traditional courses like cutting & tailoring, beauty culture and embroidery are still in demand and it has also been observed that these courses are

really helpful for the savings at household level. Such saving definitely has a role in raising socio-economic status of the women of both organized and unorganized sectors leading to their empowerment. The courses like house wiring and repairs

and maintenance of electrical appliances, auto repairs, candle making and book binding are in demand among the youths who are potential members of the society bearing the pressure of economic burden. Besides these technical and non-technical vocational courses, the programs of excellence are also launched in co-ordination with various agencies of repute in the respective fields. Efforts are on to collaborate beauty and health care courses with Shahnaz Hussain. Other agencies of repute are also being explored for collaborations in various other programs of excellence. The programs for entrepreneurship development, personality grooming, marketing etc. are also in the pipeline. Courses on house keeping &maintenance are also being planned with the help of hotel Taj, Delhi, which is to be launched shortly. it has got a tremendous market value as far as employment is concerned. This course is in demand in various communities as envisaged by the survey reports.

Each course has been planed and started after assessing the marketing trends and requirements. Also, the technical support in terms of evaluation has been planned with institutes of reputed, in order to add quality to the courses and install confidence among the trainees. This arrangement has been in order to provide value -added training tp the courses of NAGD College.

It is a matter of extreme happiness and satisfaction to know that the educational institution started by you in Amroha is making a very fast and impressive progress.

In a short span of only five years "Nayab Abbasi Girls Degree College " has established itself as a reputed seat of learning and moving fast to become a "Deemed University " The College is rendering a valuable service to the young girls of the area.

The achievements of your College are really praise worthy as it has started many courses which are totally job oriented like B.Ed. and B.T.C. which guarantee jobs as school teachers. The Post -graduate courses for English and Home Science are going to be started soon. These courses will also increase

employment opportunities for young girls.

I also want to congratulate you' the Principal and Staff Members of the for initiating diploma course in Textile Printing, Interior Designing, Tourism, Hotel Management and House Keeping which are much in demand.

By entering an agreement with world famous handloom clothing company 'Feb India' you have added a new dimension to College's activities. I understand 'Feb India' will open their training Centre in your College premises and train students in all aspects of their operation. It's good idea that College has agreed to grant admission to the poor children of artisans and weavers on priority basis. This will be a great service to backward section of our society.

With such a fast and productive progress, I am sure you will acquire a nation wide status and become a Deemed University.

At the end, I would like to say a few words to the teachers ans students of the college know your college well , love it and take it to the glory so that the whole country knows "Nayab Abbasi Girls Degree College" as a model institution.

With best wishes
