Welcome to the ocial Student’s Union (SU) Fresher’s Guide. Here you will find out about us and what we have in store during Fresher’s week. We are looking forward to meeting with you at enrolment and are excited to invite you to a week of fun-packed activities taking place between 17th – 21st September. All events will be taking place in the SU’s premier music venue, The Studio, or around the college campus. Take a look at the timetable inside to see what’s on and read up on the amazing oers available. On Monday 17th September, the College will be hosting its annual Fresher’s Fayre. CCAD Student Union is an exciting and vibrant new development within the College. Our mission is to advance and enhance the student experience. It acts as the student voice and provides a friendly service in range of areas from personal to academic related support. The Student Union (SU) o!ers a range of exciting activities, fun social events, interesting clubs and societies, as well as representing student views to the wider college through elected o"cers.

All CCAD students over the age of 16 are automatically registered with CCAD Students’ Union, although students have the option to opt-out if they wish.Getting involved with the SU by volunteering or running for o"ce is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and add vital experience to your CV.Elections take place in October and nomination packs will be available at the Fresher’s Fayre.Roles within the Student Union are:

The Studio is a ‘Students Only’ venue, open during daytime hours of Mon – Fri, then opens to everyone on evenings and weekends. By night the venue is usually host to regular gigs, comedy and theatre. By day it runs a Co!ee Shop and Café Bar, o!ering a range of a!ordable bistro style food in a friendly and relaxed environment.

The Studio also boasts: two Xbox connects, pool table, air hockey, table football and table tennis as well as a digital juke box, free laptops (for student use) and free unlimited WIFI.A recording studio is housed on the second floor.

Your CCAD Student Card gives you access to The Studio and also entitles you to vote in all Students’ Union elections.
