HDcctv is a plug-and-play surveillance equipment interfacestandard introduced in 2009
Along with CCTV and IP, HDcctv is the 3rd interfacetechnology available to Video Surveillance System (VSS)designers

HDcctv in an IP-Only VSS?
Security customers want resolution on some cameras, regardless of technology There are three ways to generate megapixel IP video
DVRs as IP on-ramp for groups of HDcctv cameras IP encoders (streamers / servers) for HDcctv cameras Megapixel IP cameras
Advantages of IP Cameras IP cameras offer unlimited resolution, whereas HDcctv currently is limited to 720p (~ 1MP)
and 1080p (~ 2MP) IP networking offers off-the-shelf wireless transmission solutions, whereas HDcctv needs
wires
Advantages of HDcctv Cameras HDcctv cameras produce clean SMPTE-compliant HDTV signals, whereas IP cameras
degrade video by compression HDcctv cameras do not add any noticeable latency, whereas IP cameras exhibit
considerable transmission latency
HDcctv camera designs are relatively simple, like CCTV cameras, and so can be made atlow cost and high reliability
Advantages of HDcctv monitors Best quality of any surveillance monitors Greater range than alternative monitor interface technologies

HDcctv cameras transmit up to 6 times the resolution ofCCTV cameras Much better evidence and analytics
HDcctv DVRs present the same GUIs as CCTV DVRs No new training required
