PRAYER PARTNERSHARVEST COMMUNITY CHURCH
SEPTEMBER 2011 ISSUE #
Thank you so much for supporting us as a
prayer partner! We are very excited to see what
God has in store for our family as we step out in
faith to plant a church in Colorado. We will be
moving to the 2A town of Olathe (oh-lay-tha) to
start Harvest Community Church. Olathe is 10
miles north of the large town of Montrose.Church Planting is a declaration of war! Every
battle that has ever been fought on earth has
been over territory and control. We live in
enemy territory all the time, but when we begin
to move forward to plant churches we begin to
experience a wave of attacks and distractions
from our enemy because planting a new church
is targeting lost people and a new place to pierce
the darkness. No soldier would ever go into
enemy territory without first having a covering of
protection. One cannot begin the journey ofplanting without having prayer support. Planting
is not an administrative activity, it is a spiritual
activity. Our struggle is supernatural, and cannot
be won on our own strength or with earthly
tactics. Our struggle is not against flesh and
blood but against even more powerful enemies.
We not only fight against Satan, but against his
legions of principalities, powers, rulers of the
darkness of this age and the spiritual hosts of
wickedness in the heavenly places. OswaldChambers said, Prayer does not prepare us for
the battle; prayer is the battle Intercessory
prayer is Gods chosen way of working.

With that said, we want to give you an update and let
you know our prayer needs
We will be flying to Montrose on Friday, September23
rdto attend Church Planters Basic Training. Jeff
will be preaching for Grand Mesa Baptist Church in
Cedaredge on Sunday, the 25th. Basic Training will
start that afternoon and run through Wednesday,
the 28th
.
Olathe already has an existing church building. Inthe past few months volunteers from Oklahoma and
other towns in Colorado have been re-roofing,
painting and cleaning the building to get it ready for
a new work. Several people from the community
have stopped by to talk with the volunteers. They
are excited that the church will be re-opening. We
pray that God would continue to open doors so that
we can build relationships.
We specifically ask for prayer in regard to friends.Shannon, Katelyn, Caleb and Zoe are very excited
about the move to Colorado but have made some
friends here and we pray that they will be blessed
with good friends in Olathe, as well. We pray that
they will fit in at their new schools quickly.
Pittsburgh Childrens Hospital is performing a newprocedure called Liver Cell Transplants. They
believe this procedure will cure Katelyn and Zoe of
Crigler-Najjar Syndrome and allow them to live free
from their medical lights. Katelyns cell transplant is
scheduled for the middle of October. We will stay
in Pittsburgh for 3 weeks to make sure it was a
success. Zoes procedure will be soon after that.
Our girls will be the first CNS patients to receiveliver cell transplants. We are praying for the
doctors and for a light free future. You can read
more about the girls on their web site at

Once the girls are released from Pittsburgh we
will begin transitioning the family to Colorado.
We pray that the timing will be right, that we
will be able to find a place to live (either to rent
or to buy), and for safe travel as we drive the
moving truck 1,050 miles.
We are working on a detailed 3 year budget toget the church plant off on the right foot. To
start with, we are needing to raise $13,500 in
order to help with the transition to Colorado and
begin ministering in the Olathe area. Our goal is
to get 15 churches and 75 individuals to partner
with us for financial support. Our immediate
need is to raise $300 to help with expenses while
attending Basic Training next week. We know
that the Lord will provide for our needs and pray
that the right people will step forward to help.
Please pray specifically for lost people in theOlathe area and that God would go before us to
prepare the way for the gospel to be spread.
Colorado is tied for the 3rd
least reached people
group in America. With a population of over
5,000, there are less than 300 people in church
on a given Sunday morning.
We are so thankful that you are willing to lift our
needs up and partner with us on this journey. We
will continue to send updates and prayer needs on
a monthly basis. Receiving periodic emails,
Facebook messages or calls from you would give us
some encouragement and would be greatlyappreciated. You are a blessing to our family!

Ephesians 6:18-20
Olathe is located in a high desert and has
mild winters. They receive 4 to 5 inches of
snowfall at a time, which melts off quickly.
The town is famous for its amazing sweet
corn. Each August more than 16,000 people
attend the Sweet Corn Festival, which
features big name artists such as Clint Black,
Travis Tritt, Reba McEntire and The Judds.Olathe also has its own BMX bike track
which has produced several state champions.
We are very excited that God has called us to
minister to the families of Olathe!
