HBF Textiles and Barbara Barry Inspire with Textural “Color Block” Collection - HBF Textiles, Barbara Barry, and Mary Jo Miller Collaborate for Natural, Thoughtful Textiles Series -

Hickory, NC – September 2017 —HBF Textiles has partnered with illustrious textile designer Barbara Barry for a fourth collaboration, creating a fabric collection dedicated to the beauty of naturally occurring designs. Color Block epitomizes Barbara’s refined sense of proportion and balance while drawing inspiration from harmonious patterns found in Nature’s landscape.

Color Block features five new fabrics that are as equally elegant as they are inviting. Ranging from heathered shades to multi-colored designs, Color Block emulates the dynamism and energy that appears organically in nature. Designs like Dry Run, Crosstweed, and Wrap Around provide relaxed sophistication with varying textures and palettes. Paintbox and Lava Rock enliven any space with their fresh patterns and saturated hues. “As a designer of furniture and form, I like to use solid fabrics in a color blocking way. Blocks of color juxtaposed against each other creates pattern in the most modern way,” explains Barbara. “Color Block is a collection of solid textiles with varying textures, inspired by combinations in nature that pair together naturally and elegantly.” Barry’s collaborative process with HBF Textiles dates back to 1996 when her eponymous fabric collection first launched at NeoCon. Her work is as timeless today as it was 20 years ago, with a vision that stems from a fascination with relationships and harmony - paving the way for the Color Block collection. “Our fourth collaboration with Barbara resulted in a high-quality, sustainable fabric collection that maintains a remarkably emotive vision,” comments HBF Textiles Vice President of Design and Creative Direction Mary Jo Miller. “Barbara’s ability to find relationships within textures and colors is inspiring. With HBF Textiles’ dedication to dimensional textures and utilizing premier mill partners, we were able to bring this artistic dialogue to life with Color Block.” HBF Textiles’ commitment to luxury performance with sustainable initiatives creates lasting, quality products, which are represented fully within the Color Block collection. Bleach cleanable Paintbox and Wrap Around provide the durability of a performance fabric while preserving the luxurious comfort standard of HBF Textiles. Dry Run and Lava Rock are both composed of recycled polyester, with rapidly renewable content present in Crosstweed and Lava Rock, making Color Block a sustainable option. All of the fabrics reflect this quality directive with exceptional abrasion performance surpassing 92,000 double rubs.
