So far we have raised £775.10 + £111.25 gift aid. We have exceeded

our target of £500.00 and we are now looking to reach £1000.00 with

your help. Please encourage family and friends to donate, we have all

    SCHOOL TRANSPORT

We have been looking into school transport regulations and the drivers are not insured to take children’s

friends home, so please DO NOT ask the driver’s to do this as they are putting their job on the line. As a

school we will NOT let your child get on a taxi unless they are eligible for school transport.

    Thank you for your support.

    Class 1 Baptism

On Thursday afternoon Class 1 celebrated the

Baptism of Patrick Oscar Hawes. Rev Dave

came and the children dressed up in their

‘posh’ clothes. We learnt all about the Baptism

service and the different promises that the

family and Godparents have to make. We

sang a hymn and Rev Dave poured water on

the baby’s head and the parents and Godpar-

ents made a sign of the cross on the baby’s

forehead with Rev Dave’s special perfumed

oil. We said special prayers and blessings for

Patrick. After the service, the children enjoyed

a piece of cake (made by Mrs Fothergill) played party games and danced until we dropped. Lots of fun

    and learning happened.

tration as they will be leaving at 9am prompt travelling on Foster’s

coach. Children will need a packed lunch and drink, in a rucksack.

    Holidays During Term Time

Please be aware that children ARE NOT permitted to take holidays during term time except in

very exceptional circumstances. ‘Cheaper holidays’ are not classed as exceptional circumstances.

If you take your child/ren out of school for more than 1 week (10 sessions) we might have to

send a penalty notice to NYCC, which could result in a fine.

This depends upon the child’s current at-

tendance. The school does not receive

any information or the funds from NYCC.

  • Universal Credit earning threshold for free school meals from 1 April

From 1 April 2018, the government are introducing a Universal Credit earning threshold of £7,400 per year for free school meal eligibility.

This means that some families who are eligible now would not be if they apply after 1 April. Also, children eligible for free school meals by 1 April will continue to receive them until at least 2022, without the need for further eligibility checks while Universal Credit is rolled out across the coun-try. If you receive Universal Credit and are not already claiming free school meals for your children, or you have not applied as your child is currently in Key Stage 1 (universal free school meals), make sure you don’t miss out and please apply now (pdf / 189 KB). As part of being a healthy school, we encourage children to drink water to keep them hydrated, especially in the heat. Children

have access to cold water from our water fountain in the corridor so can refill their bottle when necessary.

Friday to wash. It is a good idea to have some tracksuit bottoms in the bag in case the weather is colder .
