Introduction

Active Hastings is the easy, fun way to get your everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 30 minutes a day for adults and 60 a day for children to get fitter, healthier and happier. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots!We have activities for all ages and abilities from yoga to trampolining and badminton to pilates. So, whether you’re a fitness freak or a couch potato, from 2 to 102, we’ve got something to suit you.

• All sessions are FREE unless otherwise stated.

• Programme caters for all ages and abilities.

• No need to book unless stated in activity description.

• Sessions may be cancelled due to weather conditions if it constitutes a health and safety risk.

• Where price is listed as ‘per family’ this refers to parents/carers and their children. We regret that this price cannot include extended family members.

• The Active Hastings programme includes activities organised by external individuals and agencies. Where this is the case, the details of the group/individual that is organising the session will be listed under the name of the activity. This course is ideal for people who have thought about giving Pilates a try but are not sure where to start.

Pilates helps improve posture, muscle tone, balance and joint mobility, as well as relieving stress and tension. This four week course will give you basic exercises that you can practise at home and techniques you can use in your everyday life.

PILATES REHABILITATION AND REMEDIAL CLASS

For participants that feel they are not able to join a mainstream pilates class due to health conditions or injury. AKA Karate Black Belt AcademyThey are a well established Karate Academy in Hastings and Bexhill (27 years), their students are distinctive in their red uniforms. Their chief instructor, Sensei Paul Banbury, probably the highest ranked Wado ryu Karate practitioner in the area, has trained more than 60 students to Black Belt, with two achieving 4th Dan rank. They have a mixed Minis section with age groups from Under 7s to Under 12s, female junior teams (under 15s and under 18s) and male junior teams of all ages up to under 18s. All the youth sides training takes place on a Sunday morning. There are three senior sides. The 1st XV currently play in Kent 1 League, the 2nd XV in a Sussex League and the 3rd XV (the “Pirates”) are very much a social side, playing a mixture of friendlies and league matches. Hastings Hash House HarriersEach month they follow a trail made by their ‘hares’ with the aim of all running or walking for fun through the wonderful Sussex or Kent countryside. Those who run will find all levels of ability catered for; the hares aim to get all back at the same time! Those walking will be part of a strong walking group doing part of the trail.
