The hashers trickled in, guests gave their names and payment and with the announcements out of the way off we went. Nikki and guest Tabitha, who was doing her first ever hash run, kept me company along with other guests, Kani, Pierre and Michael. Kani struggled going up the slippery and muddy slopes and lots of hashers soon overtook us. Nikki wasn’t feeling well and turned back taking Kani along with her. Pierre and Michael also went back to see them safe and sound!! Or so they said!! Hugh, Tabitha and I carried on and soon found the normal way up after skirting around the hill for a little, across the ridge and down to the hash highway. Just as we stepped out onto the homeward track Guest May and Longhair appeared out of the gloom, passed us and disappeared off into the distance. Back at the run-site a much relieved Nikki welcomed back Tabitha as she told of the experience of her first run. Ladies I hope you forget the pain and remember the pleasure of feeling and being fit! Whilst we were on the run the numbers had swollen significantly to 48 members and with 9 paid guests and 2 invited guests also there, the crowd was large and noisy. The good food was soon polished off and a great atmosphere and lively conversations ensued. The evening was also capped by Pauline being extra generous by providing, in my view, nectar of the Gods in producing 2 bottles of whisky. Fantastic!! The Circle
Our guests for the evening were Kani, Helen, May, Tabitha, Bina, Michael, Pierre, Gorden, Sunny, Rob and Johannes. Those that were remaining were warmly welcomed.
It is not usual to put guests on ice but we made an exception in Johannes case since he brought the whisky. Many thanks.
Spermwhale has returned after many months away apparently polishing his knob as well as doing up his home base in the UK. Welcome back!
Kali then charged Gordon (Smiling Tiger) for using wind assisted means (Farts to you and me) whilst climbing the hill.
Take Care then took the stage and was iced for no good reason that I know of other than being Take Care.
Runs seem to be contracted out these days due to peoples’ busy lives and schedules. This was no exception and hence the Co-hares were honoured for setting a simple but enjoyable run.
Finally the Bunny of the Day, ‘Keys in the Crack’ was thanked for the most enjoyable evening.
