ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES AT HSB
The innovative concept of HARYANA SCHOOL OF BUSINESS is to be geared to meet the requirements of corporate.
Therefore, the curriculum would be consciously oriented towards companies’ international workflows, operations and procedures.
This would be accomplished through the close interweaving of practically oriented studies and practical experience in India and in foreign countries.
In this way the students may be able to apply what they’ve learned practically and thus achieve an additional learning result.
COURSES AT PRESENT
HSB is running the following programmes:
MBA : 90 seats MBA (Finance) : 30 seats MBA (Marketing) : 30 seats MBA (International Business) : 30 seats MCom : 40seats MBA - Part Time (Evening) : 30 seats PhD (Business Management) : Varies every year (5-15)
ADMISSION AT HSB
For MBA, MBA (Finance), MBA (Marketing) and MBA(IB) programmes, the merit shall be finalized as per CAT Score only. The cut off of 40 percentile is fixed for all categories except SC category where relaxation of 5 percentile is allowed.
In case the seats in MBA programme are not filled through CAT, the HSB will hold its own test to fill the remaining vacant seats.
For MCom programme the admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in entrance test.
For MBA - Part Time (Evening) programme the admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in entrance test and one year working experience after graduation.
For PhD programme the admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in entrance test. However, Junior Research Fellow admission is exempted from entrance test and admission is based on direct entry scheme of UGC.
SYLLABUS & CURRICULUM
HSB is offering Two Year MBA programme divided into four semesters on the pattern of IIMs.
After second semester, students go for summer training of 6 weeks to get first hand exposure of the industry.
Students opt their specialization in third semester. HSB is offering Single Specialization as well as Dual
Specialization (One Major and One Minor specialization).
Research project is a part of course curriculum. Syllabus is updated after every year just to incorporate
the latest requirements of the industry/corporate. Last update of syllabus was done in June 2013.

HSB provides PhD in Management. Last year 10 students were admitted for PhD.
Teachers at HSB are engaged in research projects and more than 550 papers have been published in last five years.
The School has access to online Prowess Database of CMIE. The School has access to online journals of UGC INFLIBNET through
VSAT. The School has subscribed Emerald Research Journals Package for the
last five years. HSB has its own journal HSB Research Review - a Bi-Annual
Refereed Journal.
