District Hisar is situated in the western part of Haryana. It also shares its boundary with Rajasthan. Bus service is the major means of public Transport in this district. Hisar depot came into being on 11.8.1969. It has a sub depot at Hansi.Government has issued 89 permits to private operators on local routes in this district. Out of 290 villages in Hisar district, Haryana Roadways is providing bus services to 229 villages and 49 villages are covered by the private buses.

The depot has five new bus stands at Hisar, Hansi, Adampur, Uklana and Barwala.

Depot’s Bus Stand

Hisar depot has 201 buses, which carry about 7.35 Lacs passengers everyday and cover a distance of about 16.98 Lacs Km daily. Out of this distance covered on interstate routes is 9,118 Km and 58,337 Km are operated within Haryana. The total staff of the depot (including that of sub depot) is 1099.A Central Workshop is also being run under the charge of a Deputy Transport Conroller (Technical) at Hisar for overhauling of engines and other major assemblies as well as for retreading of tyres. A Driver Training School is also being run in the Central Workshop, Hisar to train and certify new heavy vehicle drivers.
