The Black Canary pigs are originally from North Africa and came to Canary Islands, Spain, 2500 years ago, so the Black Canary Pigs has being of prehistoric origin, which gives this breed genetic undoubted importance. The Black Canary Pig is unique from Canary islands.
The Canary Black Pig is similar to Chinese Pig. There are three morphologic compatibilities, such as the abundance of bristles wrinkles of the skin and large ears which cover the eyes. Linkening them to various Asiatic pigs such as the Ming from China, and the Fengjing (Taihu type) from the Changjiang River Basin.
The Black Canary Pig is a breed characterised by slow growth and medium-‐sized longilinear, a well-‐fed specimen may take eight to twelve months to reach slaughter weight of around 70 kilograms, twice as long as a white pigs. This property is what makes the arrangement of muscle fibres confers to meat a delicious flavour and excellent texture.Worldwide, Spain pork is very well-‐known as has an excellent image and clients in all continents. This pork meet is a premium one with intensive taste and a high organoleptic quality.
