"Genesis, there's an owl outside the window carrying a letter with my name on it." Castalia called, frankl

y freaked out by the snow white owl.

"Are you high?" Genesis called back from the kitchen.

"Pretty sure I'm not." She muttered as she opened the window and took the letter. The owl gave a hoot

and flew off, leaving Castalia to gawk at it as it left.

"Today is just plain weird... then again, I've been weird since getting reincarnated with Genesis as my br

other..." She sighed and went downstairs. "Gen, I'm serious about the letter! The owl flew off!"

"Did you get into the sugar again?" Genesis replied as he looked up from the paper he was reading to Ca

stalia who just entered the kitchen.

"I'm not Sephiroth. I don't get high from sugar and I'm not lying about the letter either." She retorted an

d waved the letter in her hand before throwing it on the table.

Genesis put down the paper he was holding in favour of opening the letter. He snorted at the wax seal. "

Who uses wax seals in this day and age?"

"Royalty, the Scotland Yard, old fashioned people or maybe just someone trying to be romantic?" Castali

a snickered as she poured herself a cup of coffee.

Genesis snorted and broke the seal, pulling out the parchments inside. "They sure pay attention to detail

s..." He muttered, admiring the old paper.

Genesis was silent as he read the letter. His eyes narrowed as he remembered the words the orphanage

that housed Castalia before he adopted her. Something about her being the devils spawn with access to

magic and causing weird things to happen to her and those around her. Then he remembered the accide

nt where she healed herself without materia.

"Hey Cassie... I think I figured out those... extra powers you have." Genesis called as he handed her the l

    etter.

Castalia raised an eyebrow at this and took the letter, reading it. Her eyes widened considerably as she r

    ead on.

    Minerva McGonagall

    Deputy Headmistress

"What the hell?" Castalia muttered under her breath. "So I'm a witch."

Genesis snorted. "Makes being a battle mage stupid, doesn't it?"

Castalia was about to retort when the doorbell rang. The two blinked at each other. "Were you expectin

g anyone?" Castalia asked. "'Cuz I definitely didn't."

Genesis shook his head and went to answer the door, hovering his hand on the small blade he kept in hi

s pants. He opened the door cautiously and was dumbstruck at the woman with a stern face in dark gree

n robes and a pointed hat.

He blinked repeatedly for a moment, feeling slightly dumbstruck. "Uhh... Yes?"

The woman smiled slightly. "Good morning. My name is Minerva McGonagall. Deputy Headmistress of H

ogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am here to explain to you and your daughter--"

"Sister." Genesis interrupted almost unknowingly. "I may have adopted her as my daughter but thinking

of her as such is sort of disturbing considering I'm only 12 years her senior."

McGonagall blinked in surprise before nodding. "Yes, well I am here to explain in further detail about yo

ur sister and her acceptance into Hogwarts as well as any other questions you might have."

Genesis nodded slowly. "Alright then... Come in, please." He opened the door wider. "Cassie, could you

prepare some tea and bring it to the living area."

"Who's there?" McGonagall heard from somewhere inside the house as she stepped in. She had to admi

t, the girl had a nice voice.

"Scotland Yard here to arrest you for being an idiot. Just get the damn tea, Cassie." Genesis retorted sarcastically, grinning as he led the teacher into the living area. McGonagall turned to him with wide eyes.

"Screw you, Gen! I'm telling Angeal you've been mean to me!" Came the reply.

Genesis merely laughed as he invited McGonagall to sit on the expensive looking black leather couch.

"She seems... pleasant." McGonagall commented lightly.

"She's normally polite to people she doesn't consider family. She's a nice girl, annoying and irritating so

metimes but then again, she's eleven." Genesis joked lightly. "When the war of the beasts brings about t

he world's end, The goddess descends from the sky, Wings of light and dark spread afar, She guides us to

    bliss, her gift everlasting."

"That's a beautiful poem... though I've never heard of it." McGonagall commented, curious of the poem.

It sounded like something from the Wizarding world.

"Loveless, Prologue. It's an ancient poem that was dug up in the ruins of Egypt and translated into Englis

    h. Some say it was a poem created in the beginning of time from the tomes it was written on."

McGonagall nodded, still curious of the poem. She made a note to do a little research on it once she was

    done here.

"Are you quoting Loveless again, Genesis?" A smooth voice cut through.

McGonagall raised her head to observe her newest student. She was extremely pretty for a young eleve

n year old. No, not even eleven considering her birthday was in October. She had rich blonde hair styled

in waves down to the middle of her back and pale skin that looked smooth to the touch. She was wearing a white tank top with black shorts that ended at her knees. But the most interesting feature were her

dark green eyes that eerily reminded the old professor of theAvada Kedavracurse.

"Hello. I'm Castalia Rhapsodos. It's nice to meet you." Castalia greeted warmly as she set the filled cup of

    tea in front of McGonagall.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Rhapsodos." McGonagall replied, pleasantly surprised by the gi

rl's manner. "I am Professor Minerva McGonagall. Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraf

t and Wizardry. I also teach the subject of Transfiguration."

    "Transfiguration?" Genesis repeated, confused.

McGonagall smiled and took out her wand. Castalia eyed it curiously as the professor waved the wand a

nd tapped it on her cup, turning it into a rat. The two former Gaians' dropped their jaws, Castalia immed

iately getting excited while Genesis was going through several science theories that Sephiroth had poun

ded into his head to see if it was possible to turn an inanimate object into a rat.

"That was amazing!" Castalia exclaimed, clapping her hands. "Am I going to learn how to do that?"

McGonagall smiled indulgently. "You will be learning this in your 6th year at Hogwarts, considering you h

ave passed your Transfiguration O.W.L.'s with at least and E."

Castalia blinked. "Oh, I guess I should ask general questions first. How long will I be learning at Hogwart

s? What major exams will I be doing? Is this... Owls one of them? And... I guess I should ask about the grading system..."

McGonagall nodded. "You will be at Hogwarts for 7 years. In 5th year, you will be going through the Ordi

nary Wizarding Levels, O.W.L.'s examinations. In your 7th year you'll have to face your Nastily Exhaustin

g Wizarding Tests, N.E.W.T.'s. The grade markings from lowest to highest are Troll (T), Dreadful (D), Poor

    (P), Acceptable (A), Exceeds Expectations (E) and Outstanding (O)."

Castalia nodded, committing the grades to memory so she wouldn't forget. "I'm guessing the first three

are fail grades and the other three are passing grades?" Receiving a nod in return, she continued. "What

other subjects will I be taking?"

"It is compulsory for first years to take Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, History of Magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Astronomy and Herbology. Flying lessons will also be compulsory however, you will not

    be tested on it."

    Genesis blinked. "Flying?"

    McGonagall nodded. "With a broomstick."

Castalia seemed interested. "That would be interesting."

The professor cleared her throat. "At the end of your second year, you will be required to take 2 additio

nal subjects from Arithmancy, Muggle Studies, Divination, Study of Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Cr

eatures." She took out a pamphlet from her robes. "This describes each of the subjects I had listed as we

ll as several extra-curricular classes you might be interested in." She said as she handed the pamphlet to

    Castalia.

Castalia read the pamphlet, grinning widely. Magic. And a type of magic she thought was only in fairy tal

es. Even on Gaia, magic was only possible with materia and even then, the things they could do were ver

    y limited.

McGonagall smiled at the excited look on the young girls face. She turned to look at the older man who

had an amused look as he observed his little sister. "Now, Mr. Rhapsodos. About the tuition fee." She cle

ared her throat. From the looks of the house, they seemed well off but it would be best to offer the stud

ent loan from Gringotts to help. "It is quite expensive--" She was cut off.

    "How much?"

"Around an average of 25,800 for tuition per year... But since it is her first year, with all the required ite

ms she would need. The usual amount for first year would be 26,820. I understand it is expensive so I w

ould like to tell you there is a student loan that we offer."

Genesis nodded. "That's not necessary. I may not look like it but I can afford the tuition. The school I was

planning for Cassie to attend next year had a yearly tuition fee of 30,000... and that's without the requi

    red books and all."

McGonagall blinked repeatedly and nodded. "Well, you will need to go and create a vault at Gringotts so

that you may convert the money into Wizarding currency. The latest Pound to Galleon conversion rate i

s at 10.7. Gringotts has a hidden account in the National British Bank so you may make your transfers fro

m there once you have created a vault."

Genesis nodded. "So... when can we go to... Gringotts? And where can we buy her needed items?"

"I will accompany you to Diagon Alley on this 14th of June, Saturday if it is all right with you?" McGonaga

    ll offered.

Genesis smiled. "That's perfect. Now I have an excuse to push my work on Sephiroth now."

"No you don't. Seph has an appointment with the American CIA this Saturday. You can't push your work

on him. I won't let you." Castalia retorted, bringing her attention away from the pamphlet. Then she tur

ned her attention to McGonagall. "I just read about this Statute of Secrecy... I can tell my relatives thoug

    h, right?"

McGonagall pursed her lips. "It is not advisable to tell anyone but your closest family..."

Castalia pouted. "But Sephiroth and Angeal will probably pull off the whole British Army if we don't tell t

hem and Tseng's the Director of Her Majesty's Secret Service and he hates not knowing where I am and

    what I'm doing."

McGonagall widened her eyes and sputtered. "W-What?"

Genesis snickered. "Allow me to reintroduce myself." Genesis stood and bowed. "Lord Rhapsodos, Head

Knight of the British White Knights and Her Majesty's Royal Guard. General Sephiroth Valentine and Lieu

tenant Angeal Hewley are part of the British Main Army. Tseng Akera is Her Majesty's most trusted spy a

nd Head of Her Majesty's Secret Service, specializing in interrogation."

McGonagall dropped her jaw and Castalia giggled. "Yeah, we get that reaction a lot. But we're fairly nor

mal. Sephiroth, Angeal and Genesis have been best friends in military training. Tseng was the one who f

ound me on the streets and took me to the orphanage and made regular visits while I was there to make

    sure I was alright."

"W-Well, in that case... As long as you press upon them the importance of this remaining a secret... Ther

e should be no problem." McGonagall said, wondering how she was going to tell Albus about having a st

udent under the protection of the Royal Family and its Armies. It would be terrible if she was harmed du

    ring the school year.

Castalia grinned happily while Genesis snorted in amusement. McGonagall stood up. "Well, there are ot

hers I must attend to. I shall see you on the 14th."

    -----------------------

"Woah." Was the only response Castalia allowed as the brick wall behind the Leaky Cauldron separated t

o reveal the busy streets and buildings of Diagon Alley. Genesis stood beside her, curiously observing ev

    erything.

"Come along now, we shall head to Gringotts first." McGonagall ushered them into the crowd.

Castalia was fascinated by the Goblins. Though she knew they didn't like being stared at. Who would rea

lly? When she heard about the Goblins from the professor, she honestly thought that they would look lik

e Tornberries. Looks like she was wrong.

In front of them stood a family of blondes, almost pale white hair dressed in high end silk and most prob

ably fashionable robes. McGonagall pursed her lips, inwardly cursing her timing. Lucius Malfoy took noti

ce of them and sneered, making Genesis and Castalia raised their eyebrows.

"Well, well. Looks like another mudblood joining Hogwarts." He said, sneer still in place.

McGonagall tensed. "Now see here, Mr. Malfoy. You do not insult people whom you just met."

    "An insult? When?" Castalia asked.

The shortest of the three snorted. "More like the correct definition, Mudblood. It means dirty blood in re

ference to your muggle parents." He sneered.

McGonagall was about to retort when Castalia beat her to it. "How do you know my parents were muggl

e? The only thing I remember of my parents are the colour of their eyes. I was left in an orphanage by a

muggle officer on patrol when he found me in the remains of a fire. For all you know, my parents might

    have been magical as well."

Genesis smirked as the 4 magicals stood stunned. Lucius narrowed his eyes. "You can prove it by taking

a blood test here to see your heritage." He smirked. "If you can afford it of course."

"And how much would that be exactly?" Genesis asked with a growing smile.

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    6/30

    Lucius sneered. "50 Galleons."

"Huh. 250. Reasonable enough." Genesis commented.

    "Reasonable?" McGonagall gaped.

Castalia shrugged. "Genesis has more money than he can count or use in a lifetime and he's still earning

more. He likes to spend and spoil me. Can we do that blood test, then? I'm curious as to who my parents

    are."

Lucius frowned in thought. It was rare for muggleborns to have so much money already on hand they w

ere willing to spend on a blood test. It was definitely curious as to who they were. "I don't believe I've int

roduced myself." Lucius said, taking on a tone he normally used when facing other purebloods. "I am Luc

ius Malfoy, Head of the Malfoy Family as well as the Governor of Hogwarts Board of Governors. My wife,

Narcissa and my son, Draco." He introduced to them, shocking McGonagall who watched with wary eye

    s.

Genesis blinked and shrugged, giving a charming smile. "Genesis Rhapsodos, Lord of Guilford. Head Knig

ht to Her Majesty, the Queen's White Knights Brigade and the Royal Guard." He inwardly snickered at the sudden gasps. He gestured to Castalia. "My sister, or legally, my adopted daughter Castalia Skye Rhaps

    odos."

Lucius nodded. "You hold quite a position in Muggle Britain..."

Genesis smiled charmingly. "And you hold quite a position in Wizarding Britain. I got curious after Castali

a received her letter so I asked the Queen about it. She gave me a brief description of the Wizarding Wo

rld and its customs. I heard your family name to be one of the more influential families."

Lucius unconsciously smiled. "Why thank you." He cleared his throat and turned to one of the Goblins. "I

would like a blood test for the young lady after their accounts have been set up."

The Goblin, Griphook looked up and nodded. "Do you wish to transfer your money straight into the vault

s? If so how much." He asked Genesis.

Genesis blinked and thought about it. "Under the name Genesis Rhapsodos, transfer 30% of the everythi

ng there and convert it straight."

Griphook nodded and got to work. After a few minutes, a chocked gasp could be heard. "S-Sir, are you s

ure you wish to transfer 1.8 million Galleons?"

Lucius and the others was gobsmacked. Considering that the amount was only 30% of the grand total...

A muggle had more money than what has accumulated through centuries in the Malfoy vaults?

Genesis nodded. "Also, please transfer a yearly fifty thousand to the account and put it under my daught

er's name. I won't always be free every year to accompany her. Even today, I had to push my duties to a

    subordinate."

Castalia snorted. "You happily did it, you lazy arse. You better make it up to Reno later."

    Genesis smirked. "Guilty."

After the transactions were done, Griphook gave a pouch that would allow them direct access to their va

ults so that they had no need to return to Gringotts to withdraw money. Then he handed a knife to Cast

alia and instructed her to slice her hand and drop some blood into the bowl.

While doing that, Lucius was debating of associating with a Muggle. With so much money, the Muggle c

ould prove to be beneficial to his business and would give me political sway in the Muggle World. Somet

hing that was required once the Dark Lord has returned. Making his decision, he turned to McGonagall.

"I'm sure you have better things to do, I will escort them through what they need today." Lucius suddenl

    y announced.

McGonagall looked bewildered. As did Narcissa and Draco. "W-Why in Merlins name would you offer to

    do that? They're muggles!"

"They are muggles with standing. At the very least, they are educated with manners, unlike most muggle

    s." Lucius sneered.

"You just want political standing in the muggle world!" McGonagall exclaimed, clearly outraged.

"Perhaps. Shall we see what they think, no?"

McGonagall was about to retort when the two in question came back with a piece of parchment, clearly

    done with the blood test.

Castalia was observing the names in her hands. "Who's Slytherin?"

Lucius and McGonagall tensed as Narcissa's eyes widened at the implication. "May I see?" She quickly as

ked since Lucius and McGonagall were too surprised. Castalia shrugged and handed the parchment to th

    e lady.

    Castalia Skye Peverell

Heir to the House of Ambrosius

Heir to the House of Le Fay

Heir to the House of Slytherin

Heir to the House of Peverell

    Blood Status: Pure Blood

Parents: Skye Anastasia Peverell & Alexander Gregory Peverell

"Guess I am a pure blood after all, huh?" Castalia teased. "Though I don't know who any of these peopleare."

Lucius, McGonagall and Narcissa stared at her. Genesis raised an eyebrow. "I'm guessing this a big deal?

    "

McGonagall sputtered while Lucius cleared his throat. "If you would wish, we could accompany you to p

urchase Miss Castalia's belongings and then we could retire to my home where I could explain to you th

e importance... of your daughter in the Wizarding World."

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    8/30

Castalia's eyes lit up. "That sounds great! At the very least, I'll be able to make a friend before going to H

ogwarts." She smiled at Draco who nodded hesitantly.

Genesis nodded. "Professor, will you be accompanying us?"

McGonagall was pale but slowly shook her head. "I... I need to go back to Hogwarts and tell the Headma

ster... An heir to the Founders..." She muttered as she left in a daze.

Genesis and Castalia exchanged glances and shrugged.

    -----------------------

Entering Ollivander's, Draco and Castalia were practically vibrating with excitement of getting their first

wand. Draco went first and after 2 failed wands ended up with 10", Hawthorn, unicorn hair.

Ollivander stared hard at Castalia first before going to the front of the high shelved pulling out a box. "Tr

y this one... 12", Ash, dragon heartstring."

Castalia took the wand and gave it a wave. A crash was heard behind them as the lamp broke. Ollivander

looked stricken. "No, no... Definitely not."

6 failed ones later, Castalia was starting to feel nervous and Ollivander was starting to feel frustrated. "Y

ou are most definitely one of my most difficult customer I've had yet..."

"Sorry..." She mumbled. Narcissa laid a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Don't worry about it too much, dear. It is not unusual for people to go through more than 5 wands." Sh

    e smiled comfortingly.

Castalia smiled back in thanks. Genesis had gone to Florish & Blotts to purchase her books with Lucius. S

he knew Genesis would probably buy out a lot of stuff about Potions and the Dark Arts since those were

the closest possible magic to their own original world.

"It is rare for a muggle born to find difficulty in finding their wands though..." Ollivander commented.

Castalia blinked. "I'm pureblood. Apparently my real name is Castalia Ambrosius-Le Fay-Slytherin-Pevere

    ll."

Ollivander stared at her in shock for a moment before a thoughtful look crossed his features. "Hmm... Ye

    s... Yes, perhaps that wand..."

He went to the very back of the store, disappearing behind the tall shelves. Castalia tilted her head. "Is h

    e always so eccentric?"

Narcissa smiled. "He is. Although you will find the headmaster even more eccentric than him."

Castalia laughed. "Must be the age then!"

Ollivander came back with an old looking wooden box. Very carefully, he unlatched the lock sealing the

box and opened it, revealing a smooth dark brown wand with a handle that was littered with very much

    familiar designs.

Castalia's eyes widened in shock as she recognized the drawings of the Lifestream flowing from the end

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    9/30

of the handle to the tip of the wand.

"13", wood from an elder tree with the core of Thestral Hair." Ollivander said mistily. "Take it, if you are i

ts true master, than you will be able to take it. If not, you will find that your fingers would be stopped by

    an invisible barrier."

Hesitantly, she reached out her hand and took the wand, not meeting any resistance. Ollivander smiled just as Genesis and Lucius entered the store.

"You've got your wand, Cassie?" Genesis asked.

Ollivander turned to him. "You are her father?"

Genesis startled at being addressed so suddenly. "Uh... More of her brother really... Neither of us have p

    arents."

Ollivander nodded solemnly. He turned to Castalia. "Give it a wave, my dear."

Castalia nodded and gave the wand a light wave. Strings of green burst out, shocking Genesis when he r

ecognized the Lifestream. The tendrils swirled into the image of their Goddess Minerva before falling to

    the ground like dust.

The store was silent before Ollivander opened his mouth. "None of my fore-fathers made that wand, Mi

ss Rhapsodos." He started, gaining the attention of everyone in the store. "That wand was made by a Pe

verell. Your ancestor. He made that wand but he could not wield it. He left it in the hands of my ancestor

in hopes that a worthy wizard or witch would wield it." He smiled largely. "You will do many great thing

s, Miss Rhapsodos. I look forward to the changes you will bring to this world."

    -----------------------

Castalia happily boarded the Hogwarts Express with Draco already in the compartment lifting their trunk

s on to the space above the seats. The two had become fast friends though she was unhappy with the bi

gotry he and his family portrayed. The dinner they had together on the 14th was tense after Lucius had

explained the pure blood supremacy they followed. It reminded her too much of the 'rich' and 'poor' sta

tus of Gaia as well as the difference between Cetra and Human. After that conversation, she had put her

foot down that while she agreed that traditions were important, this difference between pureblood, hal

f blood and muggle born was not. Magic was magic and power was power. After what had happened in

Gaia, all of them were firm believers that there was no such thing as good or evil. Only power and those

    too weak to seek it.

Surprisingly, this had paled Lucius so much he had immediately switched topics.

Finding a compartment, she shooed Draco away telling him to find his friends since she wanted to makenew ones. Draco shrugged and reminded her to stick to pure bloods to which he got a smack on the arm.

So now here she was sitting alone in the compartment on the window seat with the book "A Guide to P

    otions: The Ingredients".

    "Uh... Hello?"

Castalia looked up to similar green eyes hindered by glasses looking at her. She blinked, almost thinking

she saw Cloud's bright green eyes. She felt a sharp pain when she remembered her beloved younger bro

ther. He was on Gaia still. Fulfilling his duty as the Golden WEAPON.

    "Hello." She replied.

"Um... May I sit with you? Everywhere else is full." He asked, nervous.

Castalia smiled and nodded her head. "Go ahead."

He gave a smile and tried to lift his trunk into the compartment only to fail as it fell painfully on his feet.

Castalia winced and was about to offer help when someone outside had already offered it. A tall red hea

d entered and easily lifted the trunk onto the shelf opposite her. He then turned to her and winked.

"George Weasley, third year Gryffindor. Nice to meet ya, beautiful." He greeted her, clearly flirting with

    her.

Castalia giggled. "Castalia Rhapsodos, first year. It's nice to meet you as well."

"Oi, quit hogging the beautiful lady, George!" An identical boy yelled as the younger black haired one set

tled into his seat. "Fred Weasley. The more handsome one out of the two of us." He winked at her.

Castalia laughed. "No comment." She smiled at the boy in front of her. "I'm Castalia Rhapsodos. It's nice

to meet you. Are you a first year as well?"

The boys smiled shyly at her. "Harry Potter and yeah, I am."

    "Harry--"

    "--Potter?"

The twins gawked at him while Castalia observed him curiously. Of course, Draco had informed her of th

e famous Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived. She frowned a minute later though, her Turk trained mind g

oing into hyperdrive. Baggy clothes, pale skin, haggard slump, rough hands and extremely too thin to be

healthy. She very nearly growled in anger.

    Abuse.

    She hatedchild abuse.

Castalia reigned in her anger as the twins were called away, most probably by their mother. She smiled s

weetly at the boy in front of her. "Must be awkward, isn't it? Being famous?" She asked.

Harry blushed. "Uh-- Kinda? I'm just-- I'm just not used to it. All the attention."

Castalia reigned in her anger even further at the implications of his words. Neglect. She knew the boy's p

arents were dead. If she ever found who it was that had taken 'care' of him the past ten years, she was going to commit murder.

"Better get used to it soon then. Pretending to be ignorant will only make those who envy you hate you.

" She advised. Draco was among the few that would most probably hate him, considering from what she

has already gathered. The two were polar opposites.

Harry blinked at the sudden advice and was about to ask about it when the door to the compartment op

ened. "Anyone sitting here?" the redheaded boy with freckles asked.

Harry shook his head while Castalia smiled at him.

    "Hey, Ron."

Castalia smiled when she saw the twins at the door.

"We'll be sitting in the middle car. Lee's got a giant tarantula." The grinned, then turned to Castalia and

Harry. "This is our little brother Ron. We'll see you in the Great Hall, yeah? Hope you'll get into Gryffindo

r." Fred sent a wink to Castalia who giggled at him.

"Bye." The three chorused as the twins left.

"Are you really Harry Potter?" Ron blurted.

Harry nodded while Castalia rolled her eyes and gave him a knowing look. She turned to Ron. "Before yo

u start asking questions. It's impolite to ask someone you just met personal things."

    Ron flushed. "Sorry."

Harry shook his head. "It's okay." He paused. "Are your family all wizards?" He asked the two.

    "I think so." Ron said.

"My birth parents were magical. But they died and I was adopted by a muggle when I was six." Castalia a

nswered. "I'm apparently pureblood." She rolled her eyes.

"Oh? I never heard of a Rhapsodos family before..." Ron said.

"My last name is pretty long since I'm the last of several lines... Professor McGonagall told me to just stic

k to two." She paused. "I picked Slytherin-Rhapsodos."

Ron jerked back. "You're a Slytherin?"

She rolled her eyes. "Don't judge me because of my family. I was raised by a muggle and I didn't even kn

ow I was a witch till a few weeks ago. I don't agree with pureblood supremacy."

Ron was taken aback. He was still wary but seemed to relax a little. Harry was confused so Ron explained

who Slytherin was. Castalia tuned them out, not interested as they went on about Harry's life with his fa

mily. She kept the name Dursley in her mind though, making a mental note to send Tseng to investigate

on child abuse. They were quite for a while when an nice looking woman slip their door open.

    "Anything off the car, dears?"

Harry leapt to his feet, but Ron didn't get anything. She blinked and realized it was time for lunch to get t

he basket she prepared that morning. "Do you guys want to share with me? I made a lot just in case." She said and set the basket on the empty seat next to her. Harry came back with a huge stack of wizarding

    candy.

"Uhh, are you sure?" Ron asked hesitantly.

Castalia laughed. "Of course I'm sure. I wouldn't have offered it I wasn't." She said and took out some sa

ndwiches and handed them to Ron and Harry. The three sat there eating and laughing at the flavours of

    the Every Flavour Beans.

Castalia turned to the window and watched as the countryside scenery fly past. Her attention went to th

e door opening. A girl with bushy hair already in her Hogwarts robes stood there.

"Have you seen a toad anywhere? A boy named Neville's lost him." She asked bossily.

"No toad here." Castalia replied and saw that Ron had his wand out while she had been looking out the

    window.

The bushy hard girl saw this too. "Oh, are you going to do magic? Let's see it, then." She sat down next t

o Castalia, opposite of Ron. The red head looked taken aback.

"Er-- all right." He cleared his throat and waved his wand. "Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow. Turn this st

    upid fat rat yellow."

Nothing happened. Castalia sighed. The twins had probably tricked Ron into believing it was a real spell.

She watched with growing irritation with the girl as she gloated about memorizing the course books and

then repairing Harry's cello taped glasses before introducing herself. Castalia didn't bother paying attent

ion and just stared out the window.

"What house are you brothers in?" Harry asked.

"Gryffindor." Ron said before sulking again for some reason. "Mom and Dad were in it, too. I don't know

what they'll say if I'm not. Ravenclaw wouldn't be too bad, but what if I end up in Slytherin?"

Castalia turned to glare at him. "I highly doubt you get into Slytherin. You don't have the ambition or sly

ness needed for it." She said hotly. "Stop talking like Slytherin is a bad place to be in. You don't even kno

w the students in it yet."

"But it's the house You-Know-Who came from!" Ron retorted.

She rolled her eyes. "Then is Merlin a dark wizard too? He was in Slytherin as well, you know."

Ron stammered and she rolled her eyes, turning her attention to the window. It was silent in the compar

tment, Harry awkwardly fidgeting while Ron was stubbornly glaring at her. She sighed and stood up, taki

ng the bad containing her robes. "Since I'm obviously not wanted here, I'll go somewhere else. You bette

r not touch my things." She said and left, in search of Draco.

She finally found him sitting with two boys and a girl that was practically clinging to his arm. She slid the

door open with a cross look that Draco raised an eye brow in question. "The youngest Weasley is an idio

tic git and Potter's just following him along. It's frustrating staying in a compartment where Weasley's tu

rning someone against the Slytherin house."

"Potter's really in the train? And with Weasley?" Draco sneered with a glint in his eyes. She rolled her ey

    es.

"He's in the compartment I was in. Can I sit here?" She asked.

The girl that was in the compartment glared and was about to protest when Draco ordered the fat boy n

earest the door to get out. Castalia shook her head and sat down with a slump. "Castalia Rhapsodos." Sh

e smiled at the girl but only got a glare in return.

"The one beside you is Crabbe and the one outside is Goyle. This one is Parkinson." Draco intorduced.

Pansy giggled and flirtingly slapped his arm. "Oh, you can call me Pansy." She then glared at Castalia. "Yo

    u don't."

Castalia raised her eyebrow at this.

"I'm gonna go see Potter. Come on you two." Draco announced and left the compartment.

Castalia shook her head as Pansy continued glaring at her with a sneer. "Why would Dracy-Poo talk to yo

    u?" She scoffed.

Castalia held in a laugh at the nick name. Dracy-Poo? Oh Minerva, that was gold. "Because I actually hav

    e class?" She smirked.

"What class? The pauper?" She sneered some more.

Castalia shook her head. "Okay, you don't like me, I don't like you. Bugger off then. I'm willing to be bet t

hat my company is much more preferable than yours."

Pansy turned red and huffed, exiting the compartment. Left alone in silence, she sighed. So much for ma

king friends. She was better off a loner unless the people she met were mature enough for her standard

    s.

    -----------------------------

Hogwarts was beautiful. Castalia smiled widely, utterly breathless at the sight. Beside her, Draco was gri

nning and pointing in excitement. The wide dark sky was littered with stars and she was instantly remind

ed of Gaia and its endless stretch of stars.

They clambered out onto the harbour, Draco helping her out the boat like the gentleman he was raised t

o be. She smiled at him in thanks and looked around as they walked up the stone stairs and stopped at the huge oak doors. Castalia looked around and spotter Harry and Ron at the back.

As soon as the door opened, a rush of magic went through her. She shivered as a feeling of a gentle care

ss stroked her. She could hear whispers of excitement, but she knew it wasn't from her fellow first years.

It was a sort of gentle humming as they followed Professor McGonagall into a small, empty chamber off

    the hall.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly. But before that, you will be sorted

into your own houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because during the years of your educa

tion here, your house is like your family within Hogwarts." She paused to let it sink in. "The four houses a

re called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. While you are at Hogwarts, you triumphs will e

arn you house points. Rule breaking will lose house points. The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few

minutes in front of the rest of the school. I shall return when we are ready for you." finished Professor

McGonagall and she left the chamber.

Castalia sighed as conversations on how the sorting would commence. She pressed her hand to her neck,

a nervous tick she could never get rid of. Tseng often teased that it was the most sensitive part of her b

ody. He would know since she had slept with him a few times back on Gaia.

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    14/30

Professor McGonagall came back. "Now, form a single line and follow me." She told and led them throug

h a pair of double doors and into the Great Hall.

Castalia had always loved old castles. It was one of the reasons she always begged Genesis to follow him

to work when he was guarding the castles in London. They were absolutely beautiful and Hogwarts was

no different. She could feel the very magic of the castle in the steps she took and the ceiling that was be

witched to look like the sky outside as Hermione had whispered.

For a very long time since her rebirth, she felt at home for some odd reason.

Professor McGonagall placed an old looking hat on the four-legged stool in front of the first years. She st

ared curiously at it until it twitched and a rip near the brim opened wide. Then it began to sing.

Castalia was feeling a little bit nervous now. She did wonder if she would go to Slytherin simply because

of her lineage. It was a house that housed mostly pure bloods and she was pretty sure most of them sup

ported pureblood supremacy. The sorting began with a girl named Hannah Abbot that was sorted into H

ufflepuff. Some were sorted to Ravenclaw, to Gryffindor and to Slytherin. Malfoy of course went to Slyt

    herin.

    Until finally, "Potter, Harry!"

Castalia watched as Harry stepped forward and whispers suddenly broke out among the tables. He nerv

ously sat on the stool and the hat was dropped on his head. A few minutes passed, the longest yet. Until

the hat opened its mouth-- "GRYFFINDOR!"

Loud cheers exploded throughout the whole Gryffindor table. She smiled slightly, as a gentle caress smo

othed out her own nervousness. Whatever house she ended up in, she'll just accept it. When the R came

and past, her nervousness spiked up again. Where was her name?

The sorting continued until-- "Slytherin, Castalia!"

Once more whispers broke out and she saw the teachers at the head table lean forward in interest. Nerv

ously, she approached the stool and sat down. Almost immediately, a wave of magic flowed through her

and she calmed down at the gentle caress. The hat was placed on her head and she waited.

"Ahh... After centuries, finally; a true heir of the Founders!"The hats voice spoke in her ear. She gulped

nervously. "Don't be nervous child! Now... Slytherin, eh? You aren't much different from the true Salazar

    Slytherin."

    True Salazar Slytherin?

"Yes, my child. The stories you hear of Salazar now are untrue. He is not the man all in this age think he

was. Time has warped his history and turned him into a man I no longer recognize."The hat paused. "Butperhaps, youwould be able to set things right."

    Me? How?

The hat chuckled. "The Founders left their heirs various things in this castle. You have already felt Hogwa

rts's magic, no? She will guide you to the truth."

The truth... of Salazar Slytherin? She pursued her lips. You're telling me that whatever history had dictat

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    15/30

ed about Salazar is untrue. And that I have to be the one to correct it.

"I am not saying you need to be the one to do it. You are the only true heir that I have come across in cen

turies. Most of them have gone missing or chose not to attend Hogwarts. It is up to you on what you wis

h to do. But for now, what house to put you in?" The hat questioned.

It was at this that Castalia realized she had spent quite some time with the hat. The whole hall watchedher in silence and she could feel the teacher's stares at her back. She held her neck again in nervousness

and felt a warm, gentle magic that she now realized was Hogwarts calming her down. She gave a small s

mile and closed her eyes. Put me where you see fit.

"Not picky, eh? Alright then... Hm... Compassionate one aren't you. Intelligent with a thirst for knowledg

e as well... There's plenty of courage and a cunningness Salazar would have been proud of. But where to

put you...? You would do great in any house you choose but there will be one you will bloom in to a wond

erful and powerful witch. Ah, that's it! Better be--GRYFFINDOR!"

The whole hall was silent before a huge applause came from Gryffindor's table. The twins were singing a

nd several were standing up and clapping for her. She smiled, relieved and rushed to her table when Pro

fessor McGonagall took the hat off of her. The twins bumped their friend over and ushered her to sit bet

ween them, giving her one arm hugs each.

She laughed as congratulations were given to her. The sorting continued and Ron was sorted into Gryffin

dor as well. The Sorting finished with Blaise Zabini going to Slytherin.

Albus Dumbledore stood and beamed at the students, opening his arms wide as if he wanted to embrac

    e the whole room.

"Welcome to Hogwarts and welcome back! Before we begin, I'd like to say a few words. And here they a

re: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you!"

Almost immediately, the table was filled with food. Castalia laughed as Fred and George started piling he

aps of food on her plate.

"So what's with the last name?" The girl across from her, Angelina Johnson asked.

Castalia shrugged. "I took the blood test at Gringotts since I never knew my parents. I'm apparently the

    Heir of the Slytherin House."

"Then why'd you end up in Gryffindor?" Percy asked curiously.

She shook her head. "No idea. The hat said I'd 'bloom into a wonderful and powerful witch'here. I'm not

going to argue. I'd hate to have to argue with the Slytherins about blood purity."

Fred and George were taken aback. "You mean you're not into the pureblood supremacy thing all Slythe

    rins do?"

Castalia laughed. "Heavens, no! I may be born from pureblood parents but they died when I was very yo

ung. I was raised by a muggle!"

Fred and George grinned widely. "That's good, it'll be bad if you were. No one in Gryffindor believes in t

    hat crap."

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    16/30

Castalia snorted. "Neither did I. If they're stupid enough to inbred themselves to extinction, let them!"

After filling her stomach with delicious food, Professor Dumbledore stood to give announcements. His la

st one left a hollow feeling of dread in her.

After that, Angelina and another girl, Alicia Spinnet grabbed her arm and showed to the Gryffindor dorm

itory, leaving Percy to handle the rest of the first years.

They brought her up to the first year dormitory and told her if she needed anything, to find them. Castali

a thanked them and laughed as Alicia threw in a joke about watching out for Fred and George since they

    liked playing pranks on everyone.

Bidding them goodnight, Castalia flopped onto the bed with her trunk at the foot of it. Soon, she heard f

ootsteps approaching the door and it opened to reveal the other first year girls. She smiled at them.

"Hello! I'm Castalia. It's nice to see we're in the same dorm, Hermione." She smiled at the girl.

"How did you get up here so fast?" The wavy blonde haired girl asked.

She leaned back. "I was sitting with the third years and they dragged me up here with them."

"Oh, I'm Lavender Brown by the way."

"I'm Parvati Patil. It's nice to meet you." She hesitated. "Uh.. Do you mind me asking, why your last nam

e is Slytherin? I thought the Slytherin line died ages ago."

Hermione nodded vigorously. "Yes! There's no way you could be a Slytherin, all the books say most of th

e Founder's descendants had married into other families and lost their heritage."

Castalia fidgeted. "I'm not sure. I took the blood test at Gringotts since I never knew who my parents we

re. They died when I was young. I was adopted by a muggle. Anyway, the test said I was an heir of the Sl

ytherin House. I thought they'd keep the name I've had since I was adopted or at least my birth parent'sname but I guess I was wrong. I never really expected it." She explained nervously.

"Then what's your real name?" Lavender asked.

Castalia frowned. "It's kinda long. The Goblins in Gringotts said officially, until I marry someone, my nam

e in official would be Castalia Skye Slytherin-Peverell-Rhapsodos." She smiled nervously. "Aren't you all t

ired? I know I am. And I'm worried for classes tomorrow, so let's go to sleep, huh?"

    ------------------

Hogwarts was proving to be both a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing since she was actually learning

new things. It was a curse because of the blasted homework.

    And oh she hated homework.

Astronomy was fun as she had always enjoyed looking at the stars. There weren't a lot of differences bet

ween the stars here and the stars back on Gaia. Memorizing the different stars were a breeze for her. He

rbology was interesting enough. Professor Sprout reminded her of Angeal and she couldn't wait to show

him all the different sorts of magical plants. She already read ahead since in one of her Potions books, it

said that having knowledge on harvesting your own ingredients would deepen her understanding of the

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    17/30

    ingredients used for Potions.

History of Magic with Professor Binns was a bore that got names and dates of history messed up. She kn

ew she would either fail the class or she had to start reading and studying on her own. Her Charms Profe

ssor, Flitwitck was apparently a half-goblin as she heard from whispering Slytherins. She found it funny h

ow the Professor gave an excited squeak when he read off Harry's name in the register.

Transfigurations with Professor McGonagall was surprisingly easy. She apparently had a natural ability at

it as she had turned the matchstick into a needle on her second try. McGonagall gave her a small proud

smile and a reward of 10 points. Defence Against the Dark Arts was a bit of a joke as well as unnerving. T

he classroom had smelled like garlic and Professor Quirrell said it was because he was warding off the va

mpire he'd met in Romania. He claimed the turban he wore on his head was a thank-you gift from an Afr

ican prince for getting rid of some zombies, which she knew was a lie. Another thing was that Hogwarts

seemed to always try and protect her in the class. From what she didn't know, but she had an uneasy fe

eling about the turban Quirrell wore.

Her first Potions class was most definitely memorable. It seemed that Professor Snape absolutely hated

Harry. He had mocked her for bearing the Slytherin name but he definitely hated Harry.

He had begun class with roll call and had scoffed at Harry's name. But when it came to her, he glared an

d said that she shamed Salazar Slytherin's good name because she had been sorted into Gryffindor. She

had glared at him right back.

    And then it got amusing.

"Potter!" Snape suddenly called out. "What would I get if I added powdered asphodel to an infusion of w

    ormwood?"

Ingredients to the Draught of Living Death was the immediate answer in her head. Harry seemed confus

ed but Hermoine had immediately raised her hand, wanting to answer.

When Harry said he didn't know. Snape sneered. "Clearly, fame isn't everything." He continued, ignoring

Hermione's hand. "Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

Castalia sighed as the answer immediately came to her head. Bezoar came from the stomach of a goat. S

he already knew where this was going. Snape was trying to embarrass Harry in front of the whole class.

She shook her head in disgust. She was hoping to enjoy Potions. Looks like that won't happen.

When Harry again did not know the answer, Snape again ignored Hermione's risen hand and posed anot

her question. "What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

'There's no difference.'Castalia scowled as he snapped at Hermione to sit down then proceeded to glare

    at her.

"Perhaps you would know the answer, Miss Slytherin?" He sneered.

Castalia twitched. "Asphodel and wormwood are ingredients used to make a sleeping potion named the

Draught of Living Death. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat that acts as an antidote to

most poisons. There is no difference between monkshood and wolfsbane. They come from the same pla

nt called aconite." She answered, feeling pissed off.

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    18/30

Snape seemed surprised that she knew the answers but quickly sneered at her. "Well, at least you inheri

ted Slytherin's affinity for Potions at least." He turned to the rest of the class. "Well? Why aren't you co

    pying it down?"

Sounds of people looking for quills and parchment began and Castalia pursed her lips, writing down wha

t she had said. "Five points from Gryffindor House for you cheek, Potter." A pause. "Ten points to Gryffin

dor for giving a thorough answer, Slytherin."

Castalia blinked in surprise and smiled slightly. Maybe class wouldn't be so bad.

Snape soon divided them into partners. She was somehow not so surprised when her partner was Blaise

Zabini. The boy had been observing her from afar since class had started. He smiled lightly at her in gree

ting and offered to get the ingredients.

"What ingredients are you taking? There's two set of ingredients in doing this." She said.

Blaise smirked. "Did you memorize the whole book?"

She smiled teasingly. "I was interested in Potions. It seemed interesting."

Blaise laughed. "Alright then, pick your poison."

She giggled. "Get some Snake Fangs, Pungous Onions, Dried Nettles, Flobberworm Mucus, Powdered Gi

nger root, Shrake Spines, Stewed Horned Slugs and Porcupine quills. ." Blaise nodded and went off to th

    e ingredients cabinet.

"What are you doing, those aren't the ingredients listed in the book." Hermione hissed at her.

Castalia rolled her eyes. "I know what I'm doing, Hermione. Just concentrate on your own potion."

Snape looked at the ingredients Blaise took out and turned to her with a somewhat approving look in his

eyes. She smiled slightly as Blaise came back with the ingredients. "Now what?"

"We prepare the ingredients." She smiled at him. "Take the snake fangs and crush them. Then pickle the

    Shrake Spines."

The two worked well and pleasantly with Castalia giving instructions and making sure Blaise didn't mess

    up.

"Oh, wait. Take the cauldron off the fire first." She said, stopping Blaise from adding the porcupine quills.

"We add the quills after that." Blaise nodded and did as instructed. "Do you mind if I did the final step?"

Blaise smiled charmingly at her. "Go ahead."

She smiled and took out her wand, waving it over the cauldron and watched as it turned the perfect sha

de of blue. She grinned in triumph over her first potion. Snape came and inspected the potion and gave

a nod of approval. He eyed Castalia.

"Why is it that the hat sorted you into Gryffindor?" He suddenly asked her quietly.

Blaise who was curious as well, turned to her.

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    19/30

Castalia shrugged. "I honestly don't know." She paused. "I don't think I would've gotten along with the o

ther Slytherins anyway. I was raised by muggles after my parents died."

Snaped narrowed his eyes and nodded his head. "5 points to Gryffindor and Slytherin for an excellent po

    tion."

Castalia smiled as he called for the others to hurry up and not be dunderheads and that her and Zabini had already finished their potion. She sighed and sat down and Blaised stared curiously at her.

"So, you were raised by muggles?" Blaised asked.

Castalia nodded. "Yeah. I never knew I was a witch till I got my letter."

"And you're already a master at Potions." He teased.

She giggled. "I like the subject. I thought I was going to hate it when Professor Snape started rounding o

n Harry. I hate it when people target others for no apparent good reason." She looked at him from the c

orner of her eye. "Being a half-blood or muggle born isn't a good reason."

Blaise put up both his hands up. "I may support pureblood supremacy but I don't really mind mud- I mea

    n muggleborns."

Castalia sighed. "Were you guys brought up calling them mudbloods or something?"

    "Err... Kinda..."

Castalia laughed cheerily and then changed topics. "Could you tell me about Samhain and Yule?"

    Blaise looked surprised. "Why?"

"I'm interested in learning Wiccan. It's the original way of magic, isn't it?" She leaned her head on her ha

nd, her elbows resting on the table. "I want to learn the true magic. Traditions should be remembered.

Not forgotten and thrown away." She paused. "In a way, I can understand pureblood's ire towards mugg

leborns. They've replaced important events like Samhain with Halloween and Yule with Christmas." She

snorted. "They're not even Christians to be celebrating Christmas."

Blaise laughed and was about to respond when a sudden shout brought their attention. Blaise immediat

ely took her legs and lifted them while balancing his own legs on the stool, not letting the green substan

ce from Neville and Seamus's cauldron hit their legs.

    "T-Thanks."

    "No problem."

Castalia and Blaise watched as Snape rounded off on Harry again. She frowned as Snape cast a spell to vanish the substance on the floor. Blaise gently let her feet down and the two left the dungeon class.

"I have the afternoon off. You?" Castalia said.

"I have Transfiguration after lunch." Blaise said. He paused in his steps. "There aren't any rules about sitt

ing at another house's table, right?"

Castalia blinked at the question and searched her eidetic memory. She shook her head. "Not that I know

    of."

"Want to sit with me at Slytherin's table, then?" Blaise invited with a smile.

Castalia blinked and shrugged. "Why not?"

    ----------------------

"What's she doing at Slytherin's table?!" Ron exclaimed when he and Harry entered the Great Hall for lu

    nch.

Everyone in the hall was watching as Castalia chatted with Draco and Blaise at the Slytherin Table, seemi

ngly very much comfortable where she was. Even the professors were watching her. Professor Dumbled

    ore however, looked immensely amused.

"Well, there isn't any rules about not being to sit at another table." Hermione quipped up as she came u

    p behind them.

"Yeah, but she's sitting with Slytherins." Ron almost whined.

Hermione rolled her eyes. "Her last name is Slytherin, Ronald. Get over it." She said and went to the tabl

    e to eat.

    --------------------------

Blaise was sitting next to her with a parchment between them and a quill in hand as he explained the Sa

mhain ritual to her when Malfoy took a sit opposite them.

"Why in bloody hell did you get sorted into Gryffindor?" Draco asked ad Crabbe and Goyled took a seat

on either side of him. Castalia though they looked like groupies, always following Draco around.

Castalia shrugged. "I probably wouldn't have gotten along with my dorm mates anyway. Parkinson hates

me and I was raised by muggles, remember?"

    "Muggle Royalty."

Blaise looked surprised as Castalia laughed. "Sure I spent a few summers with Prince William and Prince

Harry when my brother was on duty and he brought me along, but they're younger than me. I mostly th

ought them how to act like normal people instead of aristocrats." She smiled. "I learned manners, yes. B

    ut that's basically it."

    "Your brother?" Blaise questioned.

"Technically, he's my dad since he adopted me. But he told me to call him big brother instead since we'r

e only 12 years apart." Castalia answered.

Blaise nodded. "Anyway," He started and turned to Draco. "I was explaining to Castalia about the Samha

in ritual. But my mother never taught me much about it. Do you know, Draco?"

Draco seemed surprised Castalia was even interested in the old Magic Wiccan ways. He nodded and star

ted explaining the 5 elements that were called during the ritual.

Castalia paid rapid attention, as did Blaise. Snape raised an eyebrow as he passed them but they were to

    o absorbed to notice.

Once finished, Draco piled his plate with the food in front of and started eating. "You can eat dinner with

us and we'll tell you about Yule, if you want. I know most of the seniors know more than me about thes

    e things."

Castalia thought about it but shook her head. "How about lunch? I'm pretty sure if I don't sit with the Gryffindors for dinner, there's going to be riot in the common room. Fred and George wouldn't let me any

    way."

Draco shrugged and snickered when he saw Ron looking at them in shock.

    ------------------------

September flew by quickly. With the exception of Harry being the youngest Seeker on the Gryffindor Qui

dditch team and Malfoy complaining about it, September andOctober went by without a hitch. Classes

went by with minor incident - Astronomy was quickly her favourite class with Potions coming right up ne

xt to it. Transfiguration was fun and Herbology only served to remind her of Angeal. The other subjects d

idn't really catch her interest, although she was at the top of class in all. Hermione's been jealous of her for it but it seems like she's gotten used to it. She also spent more of her free time with Blaise during lunc

h learning about pureblood traditions while ignoring their bigotry at the same time.

On Samhain, she looked around but couldn't find the bushy haired girl. She turned to Lavender. "Do you

    know where Hermione is?"

From the corner of her eye, she saw Ron fidget at the mention of the girl.

"I heard she was crying in the girl's bathroom. She wanted to be left alone, she said." Lavender replied a

nd turned back to talk to Parvati.

The two boys looks uncomfortable as she turned her gaze to them with a raised eyebrow. "What happened?" She deadpanned.

The two boys stuttered to answer her when Professor Quirrel came barrelling into the hall, his face a ma

sk of terror. "Troll! Troll-- in the dungeons!" He stopped and panted. "Though you ought to know." And

he fell to the floor in a dead faint.

Instantly, the hall was in a panic as Dumbledore ordered the prefects to lead the students back to the do

rmitories. Castalia's mind was only on Herminone. She raced through the crowds and grabbed Ron and

    Harry.

"Guys! Hermione doesn't know about the troll!" She exclaimed.

    "But-"

"The reason she's in the bathroom in the first place is most probably because of you, Ronald. So suck it u

p and gather your Gryffindor courage and pray to Magic with me that the troll hasn't caught Hermione y

et." Castalia snapped and dragged the two towards the girl's bathroom.

"All right already! But Percy better not see us!" Ronald shouted as the three ran towards the bathroom.

Nearing the bathroom, they smelled something foul. Then, a scream of pure terror ripped through the h

    alls.

"Shit, Hermione!" Castalia raced to the bathroom, Ron and Harry right behind her.

Hermione was flat under the sink against the corner, screaming her head off. Adrenaline and years as a T

urk filling her body, she took out her wand and used parkour to jump onto the trolls head where she delivered a hard kick, knocking it off balance. She rushed to Hermione and pulled her up, trying to get her a

way from the danger. Harry soon joined her and the two pushed Hermione towards the exit as quickly a

s Hermione's shocked state would allow.

The troll had already stood up and raised its club to bring it down on to them. Hermione, Ron and Harry

screamed as the heavy club was brought down and Castalia cast the one spell she remembered reading i

n one of the Dark Arts books Genesis had bought her under Lucius's recommendation.

"Sectumsempra!" She screamed as she slashed her wand vertically.

The troll stopped. The club fell from its hands landing a few feet away from them. Then, the half the troll

slid from the other half and fell apart. Hermione screamed in horror and rushed footsteps was heard as.Castalia panted from the adrenaline rush as she staggered back.

Professor McGonagall burst into the bathroom, Snape and Quirrell right behind her. Quirrell fainted agai

n with a whimper at the sight of the mutilated troll. Snape was looking at it in horror, then at Castalia wh

o seemed ready to faint as well.

"Wh-Which one of you?" McGonagall stammered as Snap approached Castalia slowly.

Very carefully, he took her wand and placed his hands on her shoulders, making her look at him. "Did yo

    u do this, Miss Slytherin?"

Professor McGonagall sputtered at the question and looked at the three still terrified children who had turned to Castalia. Very slowly, Castalia nodded.

"What spell did you use, Miss Slytherin. And where did you learn it?" He asked slowly. He recognized the

magical signature. He knew it too well but he needed to be sure.

Her lips were quivering. Never. Not even as a Turk had she even killed like this. She had never killed the

monsters lurking on Gaia as she had this troll. Granted, she used a gun in her past life but this...

This was something a Jenova-possessed Sephiroth would've done.

She licked her lips and stammered out the spell in a whisper. "S-Sectumsempra. It-It was in one of th-the

books Lord Malfoy had g-given me."

Snape nodded his head stiffly as Hermione had told Professor McGonagall the lie she created to help the

    m.

As McGonagall sent them to their dorms, Snape insisted that Castalia be looked at by him. Castalia finall

y noticed the swollen ankle she had from kicking the troll's head.

In the silence of the Potions class, Snape inspected her ankle and healed it. Castalia was still in shock ove

    23/30

r how she had brutally killed the troll. She didn't notice Snape petting her head and escorting her to her

dormitory. Once outside the Fat Lady's portrait, Snape knelt down to her height and gripped her shoulde

    rs.

"Miss Slytherin. I must ask you to stop reading those books on the Dark Arts." Snape's voice brought her

    out of her revere.

    "Wh-What?"

"The Dark Arts, Miss Slytherin is very dangerous. You could get lost in it and never come back out. Dark

wizards who study the Dark Arts are very dangerous and they are rarely ever truly sane." He paused. "Alt

hough you are a Slytherin, you should not follow your ancestors or your... predecessor's footsteps."

    Castalia blinked. "Predecessor?"

Snape looked hesitant. "The Dark Lord... Voldemort was the Heir of Slytherin before you."

Castalia tensed in shock. She knew there were Dark Wizards in her line of Slytherin but for Voldemort...

She hung her head and nodded slowly. She turned to the portrait and spoke the password, ignoring the

painting's worried looks, Hogwarts attempt at calming her and Snape's worry.

    ----------------------------------

"Cassie's been really quiet." Harry commented.

It had been nearly a week since the incident with the Troll on Samhain. Although Harry, Hermione and R

on had grown closer, it was obvious that Castalia had somewhat drifted apart from them. Fred and Geor

ge were worried and had tried countless time over the week to cheer her up but to no avail.

Hermione of course was feeling extremely guilty. She had tried apologizing to her but was brushed off wi

th a smile. She had spent more and more time in the library or the common room or the willow tree by the lake pouring over her books. Normally, Hermione would have tried to hold a conversation with her a

bout the books she was reading but Castalia had seemed hesitant to tell her anything.

Draco and Blaise were worried about her as well, though they hid it well enough. Blaise would shoot her

curious looks during potions since they were partners but she never said anything back to him or initiate

d any conversations with him anymore. Draco had tried cornering her but she had always managed to gi

    ve him the slip.

Castalia on the other hand, continued to ignore the looks of worry she was getting from her friends. She

felt horrible ignoring them but there was something she needed to work out on first. She sighed in resig

nation and discreetly eyed Professor Quirrell.

Defence against the Dark Arts. She had been pondering about it since day one on whywas it called Defe

nce against the Dark Artsexactly. Why not just Defence? Was the Dark Arts truly so horrible they had to

learn proper defence against it? Why then did schools like Drumstrang Institute and Beauxbatons Acade

my of Magic not offer this specific class? Why did they only have Defence in general?

She knew after this day some people will probably look at her like a Dark Witch in training or something.

They were surprisingly prejudiced against the Dark Arts. Even the Slytherins, though they weren't as op

posed to it than some. It was hard to believe such prejudices existed in people as young as them. She th

en sighed. She had been through teenage hood twice and she knew the cruelty of children against those

    different from them.

Raising a wand she cast a Tempus and sighed at the time. She was already dreading the class but if it me

ant she could learn magic fully and figure out why the hell Minerva had wanted her to be reborn here, t

    hen so be it.

Standing up, she gathered her books and approached Harry and the others. It would be the first time sin

ce the incident that she willing approached anyone beside Professor Snape.

"Whatever happens in class today, I hope you won't think of me any differently." She said resolutely. He

rmione blinked and was about to ask what she was talking about, she had already turned and headed to

    class, he head held high.

    -------------------

"Professor Quirrell, I'd like to ask a question." Castalia voiced as soon as the class was filled.

Immediately, the whole class quieted down. Gryffindors were sharing this class with the Ravenclaws and

even they quieted down. Everyone's eyes trained on the young witch. Professor Quirrel blinked repeate

    dly, feeling bewildered.

    "Y-Y-Yes, M-Miss S-S-S-Slyth-Slytherin?" He stuttered.

For a moment, Castalia frowned. Her honed Turks instinct teller her that the man before her was acting

and that he was hiding something. Filing the suspicion away, she concentrated on her current dilemma.

"What exactly makes a certain type of magic be considered Dark?"

Her question rang through the class. The Gryffindors stared at her with shocked eyes while the Ravencla

    ws eyed her curiously.

"W-What do you mean, Miss Slytherin?" For once, the stutter was almost gone from his voice.

She pursued her lips. "I meant what makes a spell be considered a Dark Art? Is it the nature of the spell?

Or is it because of how the masses has used it? I read on how the Longbottom's family magical talent of

Elemental Magic was banned in the early 1900's and the Ministry considered it a form of Dark Arts. But

why? Elemental Magic is difficult to master and it was quite useful to those who focus on Herbology. Th

ey could use that magic to help their plants grow quicker and healthier and yet it was banned when one

lone Longbottom had used it against another wizard in a duel. Since it was only one person who had use

d Elemental Magic on another, I don't understand why it's been classified as Dark Magic when its benefit

s would help us evolve the way Herbology is used now."

The class was completely silent as they stared at her still. Neville in particular was very much wide-eyed.

"I don't believe that magic should be categorized as such and further banned. Who really has a right to b

an magic from wizards and witches who want to learn them? Light, Neutral or Dark. In the end they are t

he same thing. They are all magic. Why are we restricted in learning only one branch of magic and not al

lowed to learn others? For instance, Parseltongue has been categorized as Dark Magic when it is a heridi

tary gift that runs through Slytherin blood. Parselmagic was first known for its healing before it was kno

    25/30

wn for its control over snakes so why is such a useful magic scorned and banned when it could help othe

    rs?

"Why is it Professor, that we are learning Defence against the Dark Arts only when even Light magic coul

d harm people. The levitating charm could be used on a person and when used could prove to be disastr

ous. One can simply levitate a person and throw him into a wall hard enough to break his neck and effec

tively kill him. A warming charm could be used to raise a person's body temperature, yes. But you can al

so use it to raise the temperature so much it could cause a person's organs to overheat and fail. So I ask,

whyare we only learning to defend ourselves against the Dark Arts when even Light and Neutral spells c

an prove to be just as deadly?

"Whose right is it to dictate that a spell is Light, Neutral or Dark. Whose right is it to dictate whether a sp

ell or even a person is right or wrong. To dictate whether they are good or bad? The Minister? The Head

    master? The Professors?"

Castalia took a deep breath. The look in Quirrell's eyes had changed. She could've sworn she saw red tint

s in them. He looked at her with intrigue and was somehow appraising her in a new light.

"What is it, Miss Slytherin that you believe in?" His voice rang through the room. Not a single stutter rui

ned the sentence from his mouth. It sent shivers down her spine and commanded the attention of the cl

    assroom.

Castalia stood up and firmly held Quirrell's gaze. There was no mistaking it. His eyes had flashed red whe

n she locked eyes with him. She held her head high.

"I believe in Power. I believe there is no Good or Bad. Only Power and those too weak to seek it."

    -------------------------------------

"Blimey, Cassie what the hell was that?" Ron practically shouted at her as soon as they entered the com

    mon room.

Castalia rolled her eyes. "I spoke my mind."

"You talked about how you wanted to learn Dark Magic, that's what you did!" Ron sneered at her.

This brought the attention of the rest of the Gryffindors in the common room. She thanked her goddess

Minerva Ron was able to wait until they were in the safety of their common room to start this. Then agai

n... she eyed the exasperated look on Hermione and Harry's face. The two probably stalled him long eno

    ugh for it.

"I didn't say that, Ron. I said I wanted to learn magic. Everything about it and that I don't agree that we'r

e being restricted in what we're learning." She said as she plopped down on an empty couch. She laid her bag on the floor.

"That's not what I heard." Ron glared at her. She glared right back, all her Turk interrogation mode backi

ng her up. Ron looked fearful for a moment.

"Woah, woah, woah! What's going on here? " Fred stepped in.

"Castalia wants to learn Dark Magic!" Ron shouted.

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    26/30

Fred and George reeled back and Castalia rolled her eyes in annoyance. Harry and Hermione looked hesi

    tant.

"I didn't. I said I wanted to learn all types of magic. Not just Light. Not just Neutral. Not just Dark. I want

    to learn everything." She sighed.

"That means you want to learn Dark Magic!" Ron insisted. Hermione looked like she wanted to interferebut didn't know what to say.

Fred and George were looking at her warily and it was quickly pissing her off. She never liked teenagers.

    She couldn't stand immature children.

At least Cloud was a mature child. She had no problem with that.

She scowled at them, dug into her bag and took out the pensieve bowl she bought in Diagon Alley. Lord

Malfoy had said it was an effective way of reviewing for classes. She lifted her wand to her temple and t

hought about the recent DADA lesson why pulling out the memory from the head and into the bowl. She

handed it to the twins who hesitantly took it.

"It's a Pensieve Memory. It allows you to view the memory I took out from my head. Specifically, right n

ow is the memory of the DADA lesson I had. You can judge for yourself what I said. I'd like that back plea

se so leave it with Hermione to take back to my dorm. Any of you others wanting to take a look, go ahea

d." Castalia said and promptly took her bag and left the common room.

Harry and Hermione stared after her before turning to the twins whose heads were in the bowl. A few m

inutes later, they lifted their heads with confused looks and looked at each other, not sure what to think.

They knew Castalia had a unique way of thinking. Truth be told, they could understand what she meant

to an extent. They were never really partial to Dark Magic, but she did make a valid point. Uncharacteris

tically, they handed the pensieve to Hermione and left the common room.

Then, others in the room asked to see the memory too and Ron was left to stew in his anger.

    ------------------------------------------------------

Castalia honestly had no idea where on earth she was going. She had chosen to just walk around the cas

tle in hopes her anger would diminish with time. It worked for the most part. Hogwarts was worried abo

ut her, that much she knew. For a brief moment, she wondered if her ancestor had ever faced somethin

    g similar.

Almost immediately, she felt a pull in her magic. She stopped abruptly in her tracks. The gentle tugging c

ontinued and she hesitated before sighing in resignation.

"Okay, Hoggy. Take me where you want me."

She felt weird but was happy when a burst of warmth flowed through her from the very walls of the hall

way she was in. It seemed that Hogwarts was very happy with her new nickname. Following the pull on

her magic, somehow she ended up in front of the 2nd Floor Girls Bathroom.

    Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom.

Now Castalia has never entered this particular bathroom before. Mostly because she had no reason to a

s her classes were all on other floors. She had never met Moaning Myrtle and from the stories she had h

eard of her, she didn't think she would want to.

    But then again...

Children had a way of misunderstanding people. And she had more than 50 years of experience with life,

going through it twice. She felt the insistent tugging and stepped inside. Approaching the circle of sinks in the middle of the U-bend, she curiously eyed the delicate and detailed carving of a snake on the faucet.

Slowly, she lifted her hand and traced the faucet. She felt some comforting warmth from it despite the c

oldness of the bathroom and smiled.

"You know, I heard strange hisses from that sink before..."

Castalia jumped and turned around. Right in front of her face was a ghost. She blinked repeatedly and til

ted her head. "You're... Myrtle... right?"

Moaning Myrtle floated away from her. "That's right. Why? Did some of the girls tell you about me? Tellyou about how pathetic I am?"

Castalia blinked and narrowed her eyes. "Were you bullied in your life before you died, Myrtle?"

Myrtle bristled but before she could burst out, Castalia interrupted her. "Scratch that, did you die becau

    se you were bullied?"

Myrtle stopped, clearly stunned. Even dead she could practically feel the waves of anger rolling off the y

oung girl. No. Probably not young. Her eyes were too hard to be so young.

Myrtle looked on curiously. No one had ever tried to ask her how she died let alone try to guess the reas

on of her death. None of them ever came to the conclusion that she was bullied.

Well she was bullied in her life but no one ever cared before.

    "Why do youcare?" She sneered.

The look in her deep blue eyes softened. "I hate bullies. My little brother used to be bullied a lot and I ha

ted it because it made him feel like he was weak and not worth anything. To me all life is precious and s

hould be treasured. No matter where they come from."

Myrtle was quiet for a while before letting out a genuine smile. "I like you!"

Castalia was too stunned to say anything else but "Huh?"

Myrtle giggled and floated next to her and pointed at the sink. "This sink. I heard strange hisses coming from here when I was alive. I used to cry in here a lot back then. When I died, I heard the hissing noises a

nd the next thing I knew, I was looking into yellow eyes and I died."

Castalia was worried now. A student had been killed? Myrtle had been killed when she was a student he

re? He hesitated before asking the ghost "Do you mind me asking what's your real name?"

    Myrtle's smile widened. "Myrtle Robbins."

  • 8/13/2019 Harry Potter Castalia-idea

    28/30

Castalia smiled. "Thank you, Myrtle." She turned back to the sink.

Was there some sort of hidden room beneath this sink? But how to get it to open? She traced the entire

sink, bent down to see if there was a switch. Then she pursued her lips. This was a magical school so obv

iously it was supposed to be a password to open this thing.

    "Open." She called.

    Nothing happened.

Castalia scowled then paused when a wave of magic flowed through her.

    Slytherin....Snakes....Parseltounge...

Castalia blinked at the voices in her head. It seemed... familiar, somehow. Like she heard it in a dream.

Parseltongue was the ability to speak to snakes. Something she had since she was reborn here. She neve

r used it much because Genesis was freaked out by them. Sephiroth had found it interesting and brough

t her to the zoo where she conversed with a Boa for a full two hours before Angeal came to take her ho

    me.

A fond smile stretched at her lips before stepping back. Myrtle followed beside her.

    Open

The whole circle of sinks shuddered before hissing as it came apart to reveal a narrow passage. Castalia

    and Myrtle gaped.

"What the hell?" Castalia took out her wand, casting a lumos charm and looking inside the passage. She

grimaced. "Do I have to slide down here?"

Myrtle floated above her. "This is a magic school. Try calling for some stairs."

    "Huh." she laughed. Stairs, please

Immediately, the slide leading down lifted itself one by one, forming stairs. She smiled in anticipation bu

t turned to Myrtle first. "Do you want to come with me?"

Myrtle was surprised by this but shook her head. "I'll stay here... I'll defer anyone who wants to come he

    re."

Castalia nodded, took a deep breath and went down.

"Ugh, it's so dark down here..." Castalia shuddered. "And cold too." The dark tunnel was long and she co

uld see several holes she assumed were pipes were lining the walls. "I wonder what's down here."

She came to a stop to a door. This one decorated with several snakes locking it in place.

    Open

One by one, the snakes on the door retracted and the door slowly swung open. Castalia stood there in a

we at the room behind it. There was a long stretch of a walkway connecting to a platform. Along the wal

kway were several statues of snakes. She continued to walk down the walkway, the fires lit up on the lar

ge dishes behind the statues as she walked. She stood in the middle of the platform, admiring the statue

in front of her. Was this the statue of Salazar Slytherin?

She chuckled under her breath. "Okay, then. What did you want to show me, Hoggy."

She felt a rush of magic flowing through her then tugging her towards the statue. She could hear voices f

    rom inside.

Who is there, Hogwarts? An heir?

The voice sounded was soothing to her in Parseltongue. She smiled slightly. Open

The statue's mouth opened and then a great large snake slithered out. Castalia gaped as she stepped ba

ck, allowing it space to fully come out. Of everything that could have been in here, a large 60 foot snake

    was not on her list.

    Hello, heir

Castalia blinked, hesitating to answer the creature. Hello...Uh...Do you mind me asking what kind of sn

ake are you and why you're here?

The snake chuckled. I am a Basilisk. Salazar Slytherin was my master. Before the day he died, he stored

me away here so that I could be called upon to protect Hogwarts and it's children. The Basilisk seemed

to be looking down in shame, It is shameful that I could not resist the heir before you. He made me kill

a student and petrify several others.

Castalia's eyes widened. You're the one that killed Murtle?

Was that the child's name? I wish I could apologize. My purpose was to protect, not harm students. it

    hissed and seemed to deflate.

Castalia smiled at it. She raised a hand to pet the Basilisk's head. You can still do that. Myrtle never moved on. She lives in the bathroom as a ghost.

    The basilisk perked up.Truly?

Castalia's smile widened as she felt the feeling of hope that radiated from the great basilisk.Yes. Next ti

me I come down here, I'll take her along with me... Wait, how am I not paralysed?

The snake chuckled. I am able to shield my eyes so that none will be harmed by it. Helga had helped Sa

lazar develop a spell they used to do this.

Helga Hufflepuff? Wow... I never thought you would know Helga... The stories I've heard of Salazar sai

    d he hated her...

The basilisk seemed offended.Goodness, no! Helga and Salazar grew up in the same village! They wer

e the best of friends before they met Rowena and Godric.

Castalia grimaced.I think a lot of what I know about Salazar is wrong. The hat told me that history has

twisted Salazar into a pureblood supremacist who hates muggleborns.

The basilisk hissed in contempt. I have never heard of this! No! My master was a kind man who adored

all his students, pure, half or muggleborn!

Castalia sighed. I know that now. I just wish there were some way to prove it to others. It's hard to cha

nge century's worth of opinions on him.

The basilisk seemed quiet for a while How about Journals?

    Castalia blinked.Journals?

Yes. Salazar recorded all his thoughts and important events in his Journals. They are in the room right i

    nside my chambers.

Castalia smiled widely. That's perfect! I could go to historians to validate its authentic and the publish i
