Brand Opus I entered a competition brief to create a new brand for the drinks industry, it was to create a product for an adult drinking occasion with an added benefit.

    PROJECT

  • The idea was to create low abv beers, with added botanicals. The lower abv means there are less calories in the drinks and the botanicals chosen were to help with sleep, cognitive performance and concentration.

Courtney Rachel, Fashion Designer This is the visual identity for a fashion designer. I was told she wanted the design to be; soft, minimal, and have a linking element. Her designs are contemporary, but hold a classical element and this is why this typeface was chosen.

Shop dogs have been a thing that has

    skyrocketed with dog ownership, now

when you walk down a high street you

see dogs sitting in the window of cafés

and shops. I caught up with Dan from

Minerva streetwear with his dog Meggie

to chat about the dog in his shop.

“We got Meggie when we moved down

to this unit from our one on Ebrington

street, she is great. There are times

in the day that not that many people

come in and it gives me someone to

play with and also seem to keep people

here slightly longer and is a very good

convocation starter. She is also a great

addition to the coffee machine and the

seats we have now put in the window.

She does have her little corner though

and if anyone tries to sit there she will

look grumpy at them for a while before

creeping over and joining them. She

keeps me company and has even helped

me unpack boxes, it should be the misses

dog but she works 9-5 so I look after the

dog in the shop most days. I walk her in

and walk her back home and can often

take her out for a little walk during the

day when one of my mates comes in

to walk her or come and look after the

shop for a bit. We were fortunate enough

to get a dog the doesn’t melt at all and

is small enough to only take up a tiny

amount of space with mean that we don’t

have to move any clothes for her and she

won’t cover all the stock in her hair. She

is pretty good in the shop now she has

just turned one we can leave the door

    030

    companionship volume one

open and she won’t run out onto the road and

we know she will be fine with anyone who comes

through the door, she has such a kind little heart

and won’t bark or growl all she does is want to play

with whoever comes through the door. She loves

her little treats though, we get through about two

packets per week as most people who come through

the door want to give her one now. I was sceptical

when we first got her and had her in the shop, but

I am so glad that I have her now, I wouldn’t want

it any other way. Look how bloody adorable she is.”

So if you want to go and have a play head down to

41 Bretonside and see them both.

    UNIVERSITY BRIEF

    BRIEF PROJECT

We were set a brief in second year to create a publication based around an animal or mythical creature.

I decided to create a magazine based around peoples connections with dogs. I took all the images for the magazine, it was all shot on film and printed on natural paper as I wanted a natural feel to the publication. I can already see changes I would make if I was to do this again.

  • CLIENT

Lorna Crockett Lorna wanted an update to her branding from last year, I was asked to brighten up the branding, to keep the wave consistent throughout and to make it all bolder.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY

I would still never call my self a professional photographer in any way, but I have done it as a hobby a few years, here are a selection of paid shoots I have done.

These images have been shot on both film and digital, and I like working in both mediums. I started shooting digital back in 2016 when I took it as an a-level where my teacher put a 35mm camera in my hand and the rest is history really. I mainly shoot fashion and editorial but can do more.

I love getting out on my bike and going on little adventures and experiencing new things. I probably drink a little too much coffee but I don’t think that has ever hurt anyone.
