Thanks to rehabilita- tion at Life Care Center of La Center, Kentucky, though, Smith is back home again with his wife. Smith came to Life Care Center of La Cen- ter on Dec. 17 needing maximum assistance with his mobility, trans- fers from one surface to another and activities of daily living, such as grooming, bathing and dressing. He also needed help with safety awareness. Physical and occu- pational therapists worked with Smith on neuro re-educa- tion to get his body in motion, as well as gait training and activities-of-daily-liv- ing retraining. Speech therapists helped him with thinking things through more carefully for safety. “Mr. Smith worked very hard to get back home,” said Emily Spencer, director of rehab services. On Feb. 9, Smith returned home, at a su- pervision or modified independence level for his mobility and self- care tasks. “My stay was excel- lent,” said Smith. “The staff made sure I had everything I needed. Easter Egg Drive-Thru: On Saturday, March 27 from 9 a.m. until noon, families can drive-thru Noble Park and stop at Shelter 16 to pick up a goodie bag with candy-filled Easter eggs and activities. There will be 1000 goodie bags available. WKYQ will be at the event to provide festive music and an appearance by the Rabbit. Shelter 16 is the large pavilion near Park Avenue and the ball fields. Easter Bunny Hunt: Go on a scavenger hunt to find 12 Easter bunnies hidden at six City parks. The scavenger hunt begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 and lasts until April 3. If you find a bunny, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 270-444-8508 to claim your prize. There will be 12 clues, one per bunny, posted on the Paducah Parks and Recreation Facebook page. The bunnies will be hidden at Bob Noble Park, Dolly McNutt Memorial Plaza, Keiler Park, Pat & Jim Brockenborough Rotary Health Park, Rob-ert Coleman Park, and Stuart Nelson Park.
