A DAY IN EDDIE’S LIFE

Eddie is a Graduate student seeking a degree in social work. He uses the Internet at home and on campus, and on his iphone. He owns a car, but prefers using his fixed gear bike to get around town particularly when riding with his friends. Eddie looks for websites that can entertain, yet inform him of something he may not know. Eddie hates the show Jersey Shore with a passion and fears that it is disturbing our future generations. Eddie would rather spend his free time watching Indie-films, and surfing the Internet for interesting articles.

Eddie likes to engage himself in different web forums and blog posts; nothing is better than a healthy debate. Eddie is quick to remind people that his mother was an english teacher and he easily picks up on errors while surfing the web.

A DAY IN LYN’S LIFE

Her first name is actually Susan, but she goes by Lyn because she likes the ring of Lyn Michaelson.

Lyn has been an educator at the collegiate level for twenty years. Her area of focus in language arts. She enjoys reading and writing in her free time, as well as the local art community in her town. She uses the Internet mainly for work purposes, and has just begun integrating it more and more into her lessons. When choosing different web sites to use in class, she looks for ease of use, clarity in the subject matter, and the ability for students to interact with the website. As an avid writer herself, she also enjoys sharing her knowledge outside of the classroom through her published work. She would like to take advantage of web sites that could post her academic work, but is not sure what credible resources are available to her.
