The importance of Logistics and Transport Training
Logistics & transport play on a global stage which is crucial for the phenomenon of
globalisation. For too many multinational firms, the logistics & transport departments
have become one of the most important departments
A well-managed logistics & transport operation is streamlined to offer better customer
service than competitors, without wasting resources like time and money. For this
reason, logistics & transport training is very important to any business with a tangible
product that needs to be physically stored and distributed
Harley Reed recognises how organisations’ logistics & transport needs and expertise
differ. For this reason, in addition to the professional CILT programme we offer, we also
tailor logistics & transport related training based on client needs, and deliver this
bespoke training in a flexible manner to cater to client schedules
The CILT Qualification
Introducing the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
CILT is an internationally recognised qualification, allowing holders of all levels to demonstrate their professional competence internationally to all stakeholders
In a world of instability and uncertainty, what is needed is a lifelong professional anchor, a source of career continuity that is totally separate from employment. By joining CILT you will gain that anchor. You will gain access to a unique source of support, knowledge, and networking to assist you to develop, and to succeed throughout your professional life
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is an organisation that offers significant benefits to all its members, as well as a complete suite of educational courses internationally.
Successful candidates are authorised to use internationally-recognised designatory letters after their names to give them a competitive advantage as well as benchmark their knowledge and experience to employers, colleagues and customers with the highest grades of membership
The certificate is equivalent to a first year degree standard, and the diploma builds on the certificate as a step towards taking the advanced diploma which is accepted as equivalent to a university degree
Whatever your specialism: logistics, passenger transport, transport planning or operations management, CILT provides the foundations on which to build your career

Diploma
Single Unit vs. Full Qualification
Individuals and organisations who need to address specific competency gaps may wish to do single unit certification rather than a full qualification
Single unit certification is available at all levels, with the exception of the Advanced Diploma. This provides individuals with a vast range of units for training which will be recognised through the award of unit certificates by CILT
Endorsed pathways are also available at the Introductory Certificate and Certificate levels. This means that certificates issued will highlight the area of specialisation chosen
In-house programmes
We are able to conduct CILT courses and revision sessions on an in-house basis for groups of students. This allows the course structure and timetable to be flexibly built around the work of employer and employees
We are also able to offer significant discounts on our standard pricing for groups. Please contact our training team for more information
General Guidance Notes
Harley Reed automatically enrols students onto our pass plus scheme. This allows students to go through our courses to resit exams providing all requirements were fulfilled (including attending all tuition, feedback and 1-2-1 meetings requested by the tutor). Full terms are provided in the training terms and conditions to registered students
Students should be prepared to dedicate 20 - 30 hours self study per module when choosing their preferred progression speed

Study Methods
Harley Reed offers the most flexible range of study options for our students, flexible with respect to location, duration, start date and learning method
All our students receive a full set of course notes
All students receive a set of assignments during their study, a mock exam, and a revision day
Classroom study is delivered in a traditional tutorial setting, with case studies and interactive sessions included in the classes
Our interactive blended learning product is our Supported Learning Environment (“SPLE”). Unlike the supported learning packages advertised by many training centres, Harley Reed's SPLE includes many hours of recorded lecture presentations, containing a similar level of tuition afforded to our classroom based students
- This provides students with an interactive learning experience provided on CD or download link (therefore requiring no internet connection to study), enabling each student to study at their own pace. It also includes full offline support, (as per our classroom training)
All Harley Reed classroom and SPLE students receive classroom revision sessions as part of our course offering
Our students are also equipped with requisite examination technique, relevant to their chosen papers. We believe the difference between good and bad examination technique can represent an additional 10%-15% in examination marks for students
