2-2 Version A

2.1 Function The PDP provides individual -48V power feeds for each subrack and cards inside the cabinet by distributing the -48V power received from the power cabinet in the equipment room.

2.2 Structure The hardware no. of PDP is 3.000.059. The PDP is small and compact. Its structural and engineering design complies with the relevant national and international standards. Figure 2-1 and Figure 2-2 shows the structure of PDP.

Note: A label is attached to the side panel behind the PDP mounting ear and is used to identify the hardware no. of PDP.

2.3 Power Terminals

2.3.1 Power Supply Connector Posts The main and branch power supply connector posts are located on the rear panel of the PDP, as illustrated in Figure 2-3.

Main power supply connector posts: Located on the right side of the PDP rear panel, are used to connect the external power cables and input two channels of DC -48V power into the PDP.

Branch power supply connector posts: Located on the left side of PDP rear panel, are used to connect subrack power cables and output PDP’s power rail to the subracks.

Caution: P1 and P2 can be used together to provide redundant power rails for each subrack, or used separately to provide a single non-redundant power rail for each subrack. If the equipment room provides only the single power rail, but the AN5116-06B requires redundant power rails or 6 branch power rails, users can use shorting plugs to short circuit -48V1 and -48V2; GND1 and GND2 of the main power supply connector posts.

3.4 Fan Unit

3.4.1 Function Located at the top of the subrack, the fan unit is used for forced air cooling. The fan unit supports auto / manual speed control with 8 speed choices. Depending on the ambient temperature, it automatically or manually changes the speed to adjust air flow and properly cool the equipment.

3.4.2 Appearance The hardware no. of the fan unit is 2.119.295.

The AN5116-06B is provided with 3 fan units. Each fan unit can be installed and removed independently. Figure 3-3 illustrates the appearance of the fan unit.
