Ulambara is intended to provide students with an outdoor flora and fauna learning environment. A big thankyou to Phil Carlyle for tidying up this area at our last working bee. The section south of the rotunda is planned to be available for student use in Term 3. Grade 1/2 Camp Congratulations to our Grade 1 and 2 students for immersing themselves in all of the opportunities presented to them on camp last week. Some of the highlights included: gold panning, participating in wind tunnel experiments, going underground on a mine tour and sleeping over with friends. Working Bee Thank you to Mr Watkins, Jason McAinch and Phil Carlyle for attending the school working bee held the previous week. Jobs completed included: Sealing a section of the decking area and clearing Ulambara. Learning Overviews To support your childs learning, learning overviews for this term will be sent home next Friday 11 th May. Mothers Day Breakfast Next Friday the 11 th of May will be our annual Mothers Day Breakfast. Attached to todays newsletters is an invitation for mothers/grandmothers to attend the event. To assist with catering please ensure you RSVP no later than next Wednesday 9 th May. Open Morning An open morning for prospective families will be held on Wednesday May 23 rd from 9:00 am to 11:00am. I encourage prospective families to contact the school prior to the 23 rd of May to assist with the scheduling of tours. P/1/2 Farm Visit-Friday 11 TH May Grade P/1/2 students will be attending Hunter and Archers farm next Friday. A permission form is attached to todays newsletter. Students are still welcome to order a hot lunch as expected time of arrival back at school will be 1:45 p.m. Bus Meeting For Families Utilising the School Bus Service A meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday 16 th May commencing at 7:00 p.m for families that utilise the school bus service. The purpose of this consultation meeting is to discuss DET policy regarding the school bus program, current bus route and associated bus timetable. Families intending to attend this event are requested to register their interest by contacting the office. In preparation for this meeting, I encourage families to familiarise themselves with DET policy relating to the school bus program located on the following link: www.education.vic.gov.au/school/teachers/transport/Pages/schoolbus.aspx Friday Breakfast Club Friday breakfast club has now commenced for Term 2. To ensure this program continues, we require volunteers to assist on Friday mornings from 8:15am- 9:00am. Principal Report Ulambara- Pronounced (Yew-lam-ba-rah) meaning meeting place

I am pleased to report that the northern section of Ulambara is now opened for

students to explore during Wednesday lunch times. Ulambara is intended to

provide students with an outdoor flora and fauna learning environment. A big

Grade 1/2 Camp

Congratulations to our Grade 1 and 2 students for immersing themselves in all of

Open Morning

An open morning for prospective families will be held on Wednesday May 23rd

from 9:00 am to 11:00am. I encourage prospective families to contact the school

Get in vogue: APPLE STEWING is back!

Thursday May 10th from 9am.

We have a few cartons of apples that need stewing or we’ll have to throw them out!

We’ll peel, chop and stew, and then freeze them for our next lot of apple pie baking.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Come join us for a couple of hours. Enjoy some conversation and a cuppa.
