Thank you to our school community for your continued support of our students and staff at

HTS! We appreciate your feedback, questions, and understanding of the need to make

changes during this school year.

All clothing items, especially outdoor gear and boots needs to be labeled with your child’s

name or initials. This will help identify found items as we currently do not have a lost and

found.

Honouring Remembrance Day will be different this year with our school holding an online

assembly on Tuesday, November 10 (day 6). There will be no school on Wednesday,

November 11 with Thurs. Nov. 12 being day 1.

Report cards will be sent home on Monday, November 23. Parent-teacher interviews to

celebrate your child’s progress will be different this year. Instead of in-person interviews,

phone or video calls will be organized. More information to follow.

HTS Cross-Country We are extremely proud of our cross-country runners! Practices were held twice a week per grade level. Students worked hard to improve their cardiovascular endurance and build their race strategies. HTS held its very own cross country meet this year. Athletes also had the opportunity to sign-up for Athletics Mani-toba’s 2 km Virtual Run. A wind-up was held to celebrate the students’ success. Thank you to Selkirk Dairy Queen for donating a coupon for each athlete to enjoy an ice cream treat. A big thank you goes out to all staff members who organized, ran with and supervised students both at practices and during the dif-ferent meets!! HTS Meet:

Before and After School Recess for November:

K-2 students will have indoor recess before school and outdoor recess after school

Students in grades 3 & 4 will have outdoor recess before school and indoor recess

after school

K-4 students who will be picked up at the end of the day will be dismissed at

3:30 pm.

LIBRARY NEWS

Boozhoo HTS nindinawemaaganadog/Hi HTS Family. I am SO happy to see everyone again! Our library is back up and running this year and the kids have all adjusted amazingly well to our new routine. When they come to library their returned books go into a quarantine box (to rest up from all that reading!) and then we find our dots to sit on at the carpet. I pre-select books for kids to choose from, based on their inter-ests. Some students place holds or request a specific book ahead of time, so I have those ready for them when they come to library class. Feel free to email me if your child would like to request something and I would be very happy to put that aside for them! They are now experts in "touch it, take it" which is our rule when they're selecting their li-brary books from the tables. I am so impressed with how easily they have adapted to our new system and how they're finding the positives in the changes. We're all looking forward to our upcoming "new book days" when they will get to select from the new library books that we've just ordered! That should be happening in late November or early December. I had some great suggestions for new books from students so miigwech to them for that help and I'm sure those books will prove to be popular in our library! Gigawaabamininim wiiba.
