Below is the announcement of an upcoming Gold Rush program that you may be interested in. Good to RSVP to Susan (see below) if you’re sure you’re coming, as the demand seems high for the program. Best, Laurie Friedman, VP Programs, PSA Gold Rush

.

9am ........Registration: Guests $10, Gold Rush members free (you can join there)9:30 ........Viewing of images from previous Wall Art/Abstracts program and shoot.10-12.......Program12-1.........No-host lunch at a nearby restaurant1-4...........Portrait shooting opportunities with different models and lighting set-ups.

You’re invited to this interesting program, followed by lunch with fellow photographers, and a chance to practice your portrait photography!Gold Rush is a Chapter of PSA (Photographic Society of America) that has provided quarterly day-long

photography programs in Sacramento for many years. Gold Rush is changing its format to offer photography programs in the morning, lunch from 12-1 at a nearby restaurant, followed by photo shoots of subjects suggested by the morning program. BRING YOUR CAMERA AND TRIPOD! At the next program you’ll have an opportunity to show your work from this shoot!Since Gold Rush is a Chapter of PSA, membership in PSA is strongly encouraged, with many benefits of its own, and

you can sign up at the Gold Rush program. For more information and RSVP if you’re sure you’re coming, please contact Susan Bovey at [email protected] or (530) 219-0955 for our planning. Looking forward to seeing you there! Program title: Shooting Models, Friends and Family Indoors. Program description: We will be using several different light sources (Natural Light, Speedlights, Flashlights, Incandescent Lights, Garage Fluorescent Lights, Bright Hot Lights and Reflectors) to make indoor photos of models, friends and family. We will have two hours of program/demos and then three hours of shooting by participants. We will have at least three different set ups with different subjects for each set up. Participants are invited to bring any of their own portable ( NO Wires!) light sources and reflectors. If any participant would like to bring a model to shoot that would be fine.

Bio: Truman Holtzclaw With 35 years of serious photography, Truman Holtzclaw has perfected the skills to artfully blend his teaching experiences, biology background, and his love of nature to create a collection of over 240,000 beautiful images. He is past-president of the Sacramento Audubon Society, Sierra Camera Club, and the Gold Rush Chapter of the Photographic Society of America, as well as working as a Park Naturalist for the State of California. Truman enjoys most all photographic endeavors, including attending and presenting

workshops, leading field trips, competing and judging in local and international competitions, and leading commercial photo tours. In addition, he photographs individuals, groups, special events, weddings, architecture and sporting events through his company called “A Beautiful Image”. From the beginning of his photographic exploits, Truman has been fascinated with

wide-angle lenses and their results. Lately he has been interested in portraiture, trying out different model situations

and lighting effects—which he hopes to share with us at the upcoming Gold Rush program.
